    Last week on Chilly Gonzales' 'Pop Music Masterclass' YouTube series, the pianist broke down Hozier's hit song "Take Me To Church" pointing out its similarities to Feist's "How Come You Never Go There," and even saying she should take Hozier to court because of how it practically copies the song. Well, now Hozier is taking that advice, but suing Gonzales instead for claims of defamation.

Residents of the UK have streams more than 11.5 billion songs, an 80 percent increase on the first six months of 2014, thanks to Mark Ronson, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

A new service was launched today titled VuHaus by the most unlikely of candidates, public radio stations all across the United States. Unlike its counterparts, it starts with the content that comes daily from its radio affiliates all over the country and has built out the technology from there.

    The relationship between the majors and Soundcloud has been complicated. The labels know they need the influential discovery and streaming service to help find new artists and to promote their own music. However they are frustrated at the copyright infringement and lack of monetization opportunities present on the platform. Sony apparently is fed up with Soundcloud as the two parties are at an impasse over licensing negotiations. In response, Sony has pulled down the pages of more than a dozen artists including, Miguel, Adele, Hozier, Kelly Clarkson, Passion Pit, Leon Bridges and MS MR.
