• 8 Bands with Brews for National Beer Day: Hanson, Pearl Jam, The Grateful Dead & More

    While some people may still be recovering from St. Patrick's Day last month, another big drinking holiday hit us today (April 7): National Beer Day. The explosion of craft beer in the United States over the last decade, of course, warranted plenty of boozy collaborations between craft breweries and rock 'n' roll icons who love to get down with some ice cold ales. To help celebrate this sacred holiday, we've gather a list of eight bands who have done just that.
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Bracket Challenge Round 2: Vote Who Moves On...Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, N.W.A. and More

    Heavy hitters such as Nine Inch Nails, Green Day and N.W.A. have all moved on to the second round of Music Times' annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tournament. By combining the obsessive bracketology of March Madness with the annual naming of nominees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we allow you, the fans, to vote for nominees competitively, and therefore choose just one winner. Last year's champ was Peter Gabriel, who overtook KISS in the championship. Vote below and check back next week for the Final Four. Let's see who's left after the first round this year.
  • Ace Frehley on Quitting KISS: Guitarist Left Rock Band in Order to Get Sober

    There's no love lost between Ace Frehley and the members of KISS. The guitarist left the band in 1982 and he recently told "The Today Show" in Australia that he split in order to get his life together. Frehley was indulging in the rock 'n' roll lifestyle too much and didn't like the direction of the band when he left.
  • Kiss Uses Backing Tracks for Momoiro Clover Z Collaboration Song "Samurai Son" During Concerts in Japan

    Despite being critical of pop singers who use backing tracks in 2012, Kiss has admitted to doing the same on their recent outing in Japan. The hard rockers needed to use some recorded parts of their new single "Samuari Son," which was made in collaboration with the Japanese group Momoiro Clover Z. The band explained in a tweet that the backing track has been used to recreate certain production aspects of the tune, 'Blabbermouth' noted.
  • Def Leppard, Styx and Tesla Announce Huge North American Summer Tour [FULL SCHEDULE]

    What would summer be without some of rock's elder statesmen getting together and touring? This year the trio consists of Def Leppard, Styx and Tesla. There will be more than enough chances to catch the bands, as they will be on the road from June until October. The North American tour kicks off in Tampa, Florida, and will wrap 47 gigs later in Bismarck, North Dakota, "Billboard" noted.

    File this one under "Gnarly." Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters made a stop in Rio de Janeiro last weekend to play in front of a jam-packed Maracana Stadium. While they have plenty of new material to choose from thanks to Sonic Highways, their eighth studio effort, the band opted to pay tribute to one of their favorite acts - Rush. The Foos tore through the Holy Triumvirate's "Tom Sawyer," blowing thousands of minds in the process before tackling KISS's "Detroit Rock City."

    Gene Simmons might think rock is dead but he's got a master plan for making it cool again: Perform singles with J-Pop acts and make it huge in another part of the world. Hence the forthcoming single "Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina," featuring idol act Momoiro Clover Z, which will be available for download on January 28. Whose idea it actually was isn't clear but the song is apparently written by KISS frontman Paul Stanley.
