Luke Bryan Discusses Women's Struggles To Gain Traction In Country Field: 'It's Always Been Pretty Damn Crummy'
Luke Bryan admitted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that "it sucks" for women in the country music genre right now. Although this isn't quite as liberating as hearing Jay Z declare that "women is pimps too," Bryan is currently at the top of the country game (and the music game in general, having topped the Billboard 200 for two straight weeks with his album "Crash My Party") and perhaps in a position to do something about it. -

Jerry Lewis will always be the face of the annual "MDA Show of Strength," a yearly telethon hosted by the Muscular Dystrophy Association in order to raise funds, but since the comedian retired from hosting the event in 2010, someone has had to step up and fill the entertainment gap. The country music industry has stepped up to the plate in the past and it looks like 2013 will continue the trend. Luke Bryan 'Crash My Party' Debuts As Third-Best Selling Album of 2013, Best Selling Country Debut Since 2004
The big winner this week on the Billboard Charts was country star Luke Bryan, whose album "Crash My Party" topped the Billboard 200 and sold nearly 528,000 copies. It's the third best-selling week for any album so far during 2013, trailing only Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" (968,000 copies) and Jay Z's "Magna Carta...Holy Grail" (slightly more than 528,000) for one-week sales. Bryan has an advantage for the year on Jay however; his EP "Spring Break...Here To Party" also topped the Billboard 200 earlier in the year.
