It was in February when Brokaw confirmed that he was suffering from multiple myeloma and battling a cancer that affects blood cells in his bone marrow. He first got the bad news of his diagnosis in August 2013 and has been battling the illness ever since.Brokaw first started with NBC News in 1966 and, since retiring from the anchor seat in 2014, has stayed on with the network, working on various special projects. • Did 'Today's' Matt Lauer Recently Walk Out on His Wife and Kids?

No other news reader seems to be dogged with rumors quite like "Today's" Matt Lauer. His 16-year marriage to Annette Roque has been plagued with rumors of Lauer's continued skirt-chasing and her instability. As it stands now, the couple are parents to three children and are rarely seen out in public together. In fact, there is speculation that Lauer and his wife split for a while this past summer after new allegations of an affair were made.According to a report by Radar Online, Roque and her children spent the summer in the Hamptons, and even though NBC gave Lauer access to a helicopter to get back into the city faster for work, he instead chose to reside in the couple's New York City apartment. At that same point in time, Lauer was allegedly spotted out and about with a woman who was not Roque. Supposedly, the couple took a short break and then Lauer begged to come home for the sake of their kids.Of course, sources close to the morning show anchor claim that his reasons for living alone in the city were completely work-related.

Sad news this morning as we have learned that Mike Nichols, one of the all-time greats of American filmmaking, has died at the age of 83. Nichols, who directed films such as "The Graduate," "Primary Colors" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," was married to ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer. It was the head of ABC News, Jeff Goldston, who broke the news this morning in a staff note that read:"I am writing with the very sad news that Diane's husband, the incomparable Mike Nichols, passed away suddenly on Wednesday evening. In a triumphant career that spanned over six decades, Mike created some of the most iconic works of American film, television and theater — an astonishing canon ranging from "The Graduate," "Working Girl" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" to "Closer," "Charlie Wilson's War," "Annie," "Spamalot," "The Birdcage" and "Angels in America." He was a true visionary, winning the highest honors in the arts for his work as a director, writer, producer and comic and was one of a tiny few to win the EGOT — an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony."
  • New Mom Savannah Guthrie Returns To 'Today Show' Anchor Seat On Nov. 3

NBC News has been having a rough week, especially after confirmation came that chief medical correspondent, Dr. Nancy Snyderman and her crew had violated a voluntary quarantine after returning from Liberia. One of the cameramen in her group is currently being treated in a Nebraska hospital for the Ebola Virus and after agreeing to stay out of public places for 21 days, Snyderman and a few others were spotted making a food run in spite of potentially carrying the deadly virus. Her blame-passing apology hasn't helped the network either, leaving them in dire need of good news or at least something positive. Luckily, it has been confirmed that Savannah Guthrie will be returning to her Today Show anchor seat on Nov. 3.
  • NBC's Dr. Nancy Snyderman Reportedly Breaking Voluntary Ebola Quarantine Last Week Led CDC to Issue Mandatory Action for Her News Team

While Dr. Nancy Snyderman's reports on the Ebola virus have become a regular part of "NBC News's" daily coverage on the epidemic, it seems she has had a hard time following her own advice. Snyderman and her news team spent several days reporting live from Liberia, and when one of the cameramen in her entourage was diagnosed with Ebola, they all returned to the States. While Snyderman has been phoning in her NBC reports due to a voluntary quarantine, the doctor has not exactly stayed indoors.
