Slash and Myles Kennedy Announce 'Live at The Roxy' Album Featuring Guns N' Roses Tunes [TRACKLIST]
Slash released his third solo effort with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, 'World on Fire,' in September. The album performed well on the charts, hitting No. 10 on the 'Billboard' 200, and the group hit the road to celebrate its release. Slash and Co. will follow the album up with a live LP that was recorded at The Roxy in West Hollywood last year. It is called 'Live at The Roxy.' The live album, out June 15, will come in a variety of formats, 'Ultimate Classic Rock' pointed out, including DVD, CD and vinyl LP. The tracklist spans Slash's entire career from Guns N' Roses to his most recent album. -

Remember when Slash, the guitar hero for hard rock outfit Guns N' Roses, joined forces with Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, in the early 1990s? The pair collaborated on "Black or White" and "Give in to Me" for Jackson's 1991 album 'Dangerous.' Former GN'R manager Doug Goldstein recently revealed that Axl Rose did not much care for the brief partnership, and it may have been one of the reasons the rock band dissolved. -
Tower Records Documentary 'All Things Must Pass' Features Dave Grohl, Elton John and David Geffen
There seems to be a resurgence in independent record stores nowadays as chain retailers continue to fold. Tower Records was one of the biggest music chains around from 1960 to 2000, and many famous musicians have an attachment to the store. Actor Colin Hanks began working on a documentary about Tower Records in 2008, two years after it declared bankruptcy. The documentary 'All Things Must Pass' debuted at South by Southwest this week. The director talked about the film, which took so long to make because of funding issues, prior to a screening. He mentioned two big music names -- Elton John and Dave Grohl -- as supporters of the record store, 'Billboard' noted. Slash also appeared in the film. -

There's no love lost between Ace Frehley and the members of KISS. The guitarist left the band in 1982 and he recently told "The Today Show" in Australia that he split in order to get his life together. The former GN'R bassist hit the stage for "It's So Easy" and stuck around for the Clarke-assisted "Paradise City." -

Steven Adler lent his percussion skills to some of the early albums by hard rock heroes Guns N' Roses. The most notable was the band's seminal 1987 release 'Appetite for Destruction.' He even thinks an album made by the classic lineup would be better than 'Appetite,' saying that it would blow the album away. -

VH1 Classic will be airing a new rock mini documentary series "Rock Icons," featuring several A- and B-list musicians including Slash, Billy Corgan and Ted Nugent. The company that put it together, Banger Films, has a long track record of similar programming, including the channel's 2011 series "Metal Evolution" as well as docs "Super Duper Alice Cooper" and "Iron Maiden: Flight 666."
