Topping the British charts twice is great but it wasn't nearly enough to land a spot on the Official Chart Company's records of the most no. 1 singles during the decade (The OCC began tracking singles during 1969, but has the charts archived by New Music Express and Record Retailer going all the way back to 1952). American listeners may be surprised to learn about acts such as Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Shadows and Cliff Richard.

McCartney spoke to 'NME' about what sparked the partnership. Macca said he started to understand the rap genre more after seeing Jay Z and West in concert last year. "I was expecting it to be, 'Oh, it's great, it's hip-hop, it's loud ...,' but I hadn't until then got the urban poetry aspect," he said. "Like, Bob Dylan is a poet. And so is Jay Z, and Kanye."

    Fake musicians, rejoice! The video game that made millions of dreams become living-room realities, 'Rock Band,' has announced the fourth installment of the franchise. Details about the new edition are scarce, but developer Harmonix did offer some good news: The new game will be compatible with all the previous installments -- minus 'The Beatles: Rock Band,' for licensing reasons. As 'Wired' pointed out, Rock Band 4 will be out for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the fall. Lead developer Daniel Sussman said the company has made the fourth installment compatible with songs and instruments from the previous games out of respect to dedicated customers.
