Amy Adams Interview on 'Today' Canceled When She Refused to Discuss Sony Hack
Amy Adams held her ground with NBC executives yesterday and it cost her a promotional interview on "Today." The show wanted to get her opinion on one of the hottest topics out there now — the hacking of Sony — and apparently Adams refused to comment publicly. Her name has been mentioned in some of the leaked emails that prove she and Jennifer Lawrence were paid considerably less than their male costars in "American Hustle." It was a topic Adams refused to touch, so "Today" decided to cancel her interview on the spot in spite of her being there to actually promote her new film "Big Eyes."What actually transpired in the green room depends on who you ask. Adams's team insists she carried herself with grace while NBC insiders are saying things got heated and her attitude did not win her any fans. According to "Us Weekly," it was just business as usual for the morning show. -
'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Funds Another Music Video for Her Daughter's Group 3KT in Spite of Being Broke
Teresa Giudice has spent the last few months talking about how careful she needs to be with money now that she has admitted to a slew of financial crimes and still owes more than $200,000 in restitution, but she seems to be having a tough time actually doing it. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star has always had a difficult time telling her kids that they cannot have something, and now that Giudice is just weeks away from turning herself in to a Connecticut prison camp, saying no is even tougher. That is probably why when 13-year-old Gia Guidice's all-girl group 3KT failed to make enough money to fund a music video through a Kickstarter campaign, it was Teresa to the rescue.According to a report by Radar Online, the campaign raised only a little more than $900 of the $7,500 needed to make the video so 3KT's manager canceled the initial shoot. There was no way Giudice was going to allow her oldest daughter to be disappointed heading into the last holiday they will be able to spend together for a while, so she decided to foot a nice chunk of the bill to get the video made. -
Peaceful Protests Erupt All Over NYC After the Grand Jury Decides Not to Indict Daniel Pantaleo in Eric Garner Chokehold Death Case
Almost immediately after it was announced yesterday that NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo would not be indicted for the chokehold death of Eric Garner in July on a Staten Island street, the backlash and disbelief began. If you tuned in to any of the news stations, then what you saw was inevitably heated debates between journalists and legal analysts over whether or not an indictment for any charge at all seemed like a no-brainer. Then last night, the peaceful protests began.Smaller groups in Harlem and Staten Island and at Grand Central Terminal were later followed by a march 5,000 people strong down Broadway through Times Square. Protesters are still rallying for some type of justice for Garner, who, just minutes before his death, broke up a fight between a few other people and then found himself surrounded by NYPD. A video of the entire altercation was caught on a cellphone and Garner's hands were clearly up as he backed away from officers who were determined to arrest him for selling loose cigarettes — a summary offense.Pantaleo wrestled Garner to the ground in what appeared to be a type of chokehold, something that has been banned by the NYPD. Even as Garner expressed his inability to breathe and another officer directed Pantaleo to release him, he continued the maneuver until Garner eventually died on that sidewalk. Ironically enough, after it was announced that the grand jury would not be charging Pantaleo with a single crime, he issued an apology to Garner's family, something his widow, Esaw Garner refused to accept. -
New Video Allegedly Shows Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson Making Random Threats to Mike Arman in 2013
This is probably the worst time for anything else negative regarding Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson to be released to the press, but a new video has leaked depicting his demeanor with a suspect in October 2013 and it is not good. Wilson reportedly showed up on Mike Arman's property to issue a court summons for derelict vehicles. Arman pulls out his cellphone and informs Wilson that he is going to record everything, making it sound like he was already leery of the local police department. In the 15-second clip, you can clearly hear Wilson tell Arman, "If you don't stop taking pictures, I'm gonna lock your ass up."Wilson tells him that he has no right to film him and physically moves the camera. Here is the issue in the police report filed by Wilson: His depiction of the entire incident is basically disproved by the video. Arman was charged with failure to comply until his attorney saw the video. He was also charged with violating pitbull violations, which is a bit funny because the dog was actually a bull dog. -
New Raw Video Captures MH17 Moments After It Crashed in Eastern Ukraine, Killing All on Board
Can you believe that it has already been four months since Malaysia Flight MH17 was shot down in the eastern edge of Ukraine? Even more shocking is the fact that Dutch investigators were just finally allowed to begin picking up the large debris field yesterday, Nov. 16! It is widely believed that pro-Russian rebels shot the passenger plane down, killing all 283 people on board, because they mistakenly believed it was a Ukrainian plane. Dutch investigators have had to fight to get anywhere near the wreckage up until now because of intense, ongoing fighting in the area.At the same time, we are learning that there is now realistic hope for solving the official investigation that has been opened up by officials from the Netherlands: New video has surfaced of the smoldering plane moments after it crashed. The Associated Press released the footage, which shows local villagers running toward the smoking debris, asking if the pilot had been found. Apparently the rebels will attempt to locate and kidnap a pilot after downing an aircraft or jet. Clearly, from this horrific footage, any survival was impossible. -
Janay Palmer Does Her Best to Downplay Being Knocked Out by Ray Rice in New Interview with Matt Lauer
Janay Palmer has spent the last few months basically hiding out, not allowing the general public to have much more than a slight glimpse into her personal life, and who can blame her? After that now-infamous elevator surveillance video went public, showing her now-husband Ray Rice knocking her out with one punch, it was a real turning point in her life. Palmer chose quite quickly to stand by her husband and support him, even going so far as to lambaste the NFL for punishing Rice for his violent actions. It was pretty clear Palmer was taking the "stand by your man" approach to the whole scandal and, in doing so, she kept her silence for the most part. At least until NBC's "Today" managed to grab the first official interview with her.Make no mistake, it is actually Rice that NBC wants to hear from, and while he never signed on the dotted line with the network, he was there when Matt Lauer sat down with Palmer in the couple's Maryland home late last week. How much he actually said is still unknown, but Lauer appeared happy with the outcome of the chat. -
