• Drake planning Houston Appreciation Weekend music festival

    Drake has been putting on OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto for the past five years. The two-day festival features some of the biggest names in hip-hop with Outkast and other special guests performing this year and Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Miguel, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne and TLC having performed in years past. Now Drake has plans to bring a festival to his "second home," Houston, Texas, in an event dubbed Houston Appreciation Weekend (HAW).

Fans get to vote on the first category, Beatport establishes its choices in the latter category, and sheer sales statistics determines the last.

    Following his takeover of The Arsenio Hall Show, Prince stayed in Los Angeles to play two surprise performances at the Palladium this past weekend. His first set on Friday night featured just seven songs but Sunday he played a legendary, career-spanning set that lasted more than four hours and included five encores all totaling to nearly 60 songs. He played hits from Purple Rain and Sign O' the Times as well as well as material from The Family and The Time with a few unreleased songs thrown in the mix.

    An established British music venue in Bath, Moles, will be closed until at least August after the effects of a fire over the weekend. No one was harmed in the blaze, but smoke damage was significant enough to force the closure, according to the club's promotions manager, Liam Baker.

    Those who have followed the whirlwind of Justin Biebers legal troubles know that he is involved in a lawsuit stemming from one of his bodyguards allegedly beating up a photographer. Earlier today, TMZ posted what they are calling the best moments of the 4 ½ hour deposition. Throughout the whole thing, Bieber seems to have an attitude and doesn't take the questions seriously. He compares the deposition to being grilled by Katie Couric or 60 Minutes.

    Kevin Durant probably deals with as much trash talk as anyone in professional sports. The NBA is ripe with players who are actually better at talking than playing basketball. Durant will probably earn his fourth scoring title this season, and defenders try to get in his head, versus actually playing solid defense. One opponent has upped the trash-talk ante: Lil B. The California rapper sent out a music video on Monday for his track "F--- Kevin Durant."
