It's worse when two music festivals appealing to the same fan base are going down on the same day. It's the worst when both of those music festivals are going on within 100 miles of each other. Such is the case between the Electric Daisy Carnival New York and the Mysteryland Festival are both going down this Memorial Day weekend. -

The highly anticipated Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side debuts in the U.S. next week at South by Southwest, and today a clip from the filmed as surfaced online via Rolling Stone. The video shows Hendrix (Andre 3000) with his friend Linda Keith (Imogen Poots) in a New York restaurant chatting with future manager Chas Chandler (Andrew Buckley), who wants to get Hendrix to London. At the time, UK guitarists were playing blues-inspired music, but Hendrix was afraid of getting caught up in labels. -

Lady Gaga to play Stubbs for SXSW, fans compete in Doritos 'Bold Missions' challenge for tickets
Last week, we reported that Lady Gaga was denied a permit to play the Doritos stage, a.k.a. a 56-foot vending machine-shaped stage, in the parking lot of a restaurant in Austin. The city said they would work with her to find a venue more suitable to the crowds she would likely draw. Now the ARTPOP singer is set to headline the outdoor stage at Stubbs on March 13, which will become the temporary location of the Dorito's #BoldStage that night.
