Tim McGraw's nephew, Timothy Wayne, is making waves on his own within the country music world. The emerging singer just signed a new record deal with Universal Music Group's Nashville imprint.

Right before signing the deal, he took to Instagram to post a video at the UMG Nashville office, in which he says that he's "super excited."

"I am excited to share I've signed my very first record deal with @umgnashville ! Thank y'all so much for the support. Stay tuned, new music may be coming sooner than you think!" reads the caption.

Wayne is currently a sophomore at Louisiana State University. When he's not hitting the books, he's hitting the recording studio. The budding artist also performs in the local area.

His website describes his sound as "influenced by a spectrum of country legends, from the traditional sounds of Waylon Jennings, George Strait, and Randy Travis, to contemporary flair of Dierks Bentley and his greatest inspiration, Tim McGraw." The singer is undoubtedly a fan of his influential uncle.

Wayne has created a unique style of his own that "bridges the classic and the modern."

The singer's "journey is more than a path to musical success; it's a heartfelt mission to share the stories that have shaped him." He was born and raised in Franklin, Tennessee.

Cindy Mabe, the Chair and CEO of UMG Nashville had high praise for the young musician. She credited Wayne with "bringing a new generation of core country music fans to his experiences of growing up around Nashville and country music as well as the country boy lifestyle he is living."

Mabe continued her compliments, going on to call the singer "a charismatic, outgoing, genuine artist."

She emphasized her feelings, saying that "It's exciting to watch Timothy build his era of country music and bring in a rabid fan base of youth culture into country music." The

The soon-to-be star said that he is so "excited to have this opportunity to make and record music with UMG Nashville."

"This has been a dream of mine, and I am working hard on music that I can't wait to share with everyone."

His first album is in the works, with no set release date as of now. Wayne does not have any songs out on streaming yet, which makes the arrival of his debut record all the more exciting.

Wayne will perform at the CMA Fest later this year. He's currently supporting his uncle Tim on his Standing Room Only tour. Other artists joining McGraw on tour include Abby Anderson, Heartwreckers, Randall King, Landon Parker, Peytan Porter, Restless Road, Track45 and The Woods.

McGraw, meanwhile, shouted out NCAA Women's Basketball star Caitlin Clark on her record breaking accomplishments. The singer cheered "Gotta represent! Girl power! C'mon!" as he rocked his very own Caitlin Clark jersey.
