Jack Black quickly stopped the Tenacious D tour to protect his reputation in Hollywood and future movie projects from potential harm.

A recent update revealed that the comedy band's tour had been canceled, and their future projects are currently on pause. This decision came after bandmate Kyle Gass expressed regret over the failed attempt on Donald Trump's life.

During their show in Sydney, Australia, Tenacious D surprised Gass with a birthday cake. Black presented the cake and encouraged him to make a wish, to which Gass jokingly replied, "Don't miss Trump next time." The audience's reaction was a mix of cheers, laughter, and a few disappointed faces.

Caught off guard by Gass' unexpected remarks, Black swiftly acted to mitigate the fallout, determined to salvage his professional reputation and prevent any potential setbacks in his career trajectory.

An insider revealed to the Daily Mail that Black and Gass remain close friends despite the controversy. Unexpectedly, Gass' recent comment about Trump caught Black off guard, prompting him to address the controversy given his influential position in Hollywood immediately.

They further explained, "Though Black was surprised by it and even surprised by the reaction, he made sure to get ahead of it."

"Black isn't looking to be canceled, and by ending the tour and stepping away from it all and Gass' joke, he hopes that people will quickly forget it."

The source added, "There are so many huge movies Black is attached to right now and to derail that would be career suicide. We will see Tenacious D again, but it could be years from now."

The Kung Fu Panda voice actor is involved in the post-production of three movies, one of which set to hit theaters later this year.

From what insiders have revealed, Gass, known for his vocal opposition to Trump, is reportedly concerned about the state of his friendship with Black.

According to the insider, he regrets how things have unfolded. He now reportedly finds himself grappling with the repercussions that have arisen, initially thinking it was just a passing remark on a show.

"He just hopes that people will forgive him and that it won't impact his friendship with Black," the insider concluded.
