'Unconditionally' singer Katy Perry has released a new teaser for her electro-pop music.
On Friday, July 19, the singer released a 30-second teaser of the track 'Lifetimes' from her upcoming album '143.'
The 39-year-old pop icon released the teaser of the dance-pop track 'Lifetimes' on YouTube.
"I know you feel it/ Can you believe it?/ I'm gonna love you 'til the end and then repeat it," Perry sings on the Dr. Luke-produced track. "For life/ For life."
The singer also posted a short video of herself dancing to 'Lifetimes' with fans at what looks to be an album preview event in addition to the YouTube teaser.
Perry wrote on Instagram, "143 IS A PARTY AND EVERYONE'S INVITED: SOUND ON."
Capitol Records has scheduled the release of '143,' code for "I love you," on Friday, Sept. 20. Perry's upcoming album will be her first since 'Smile' in 2020, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Perry responded last weekend after a barrage of criticism for the music video for her lead single, 'Woman's World,' from '143.' She shared behind-the-scenes footage to clarify her intentions for the piece, which combines feminist allegories and lyrics with lots of cheeky visuals. She explained that she has set out a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expressions of love as a throughline message.
"YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! EVEN SATIRE!" Perry captioned her Instagram post.
'Woman's World' did not seem to land the way Perry intended due to criticism that the song failed in its attempt to be a feminist anthem and her collaboration with track co-producer Dr. Luke, who Kesha accused of sexual misconduct before the singer and producer settled a controversial, nine-year legal battle in 2023 before it went to trial.
