So much media attention has been swirling around Teresa and Joe Giudice that it is almost easy to forget they are not the only couple from Bravo's Housewives franchise to be facing prison and probably divorce. The Real Housewives of Atlanta's fans have watched Phaedra Parks, a quick-witted attorney, find love with ex-con Apollo Nida. He was released from prison a few years back and the two married and had two sons before he got in trouble again. Nida checked himself into a Kentucky federal prison where he will likely spend the next eight years, and Parks is finally ready to discuss the ordeal with Ellen DeGeneres.
According to her rep, Steve Honig, Parks will be sitting down for an interview with DeGeneres Oct. 14, and the episode will air across the U.S. the next day. She is expected to address rumors that she was actually the mastermind behind Nida's identity theft scheme and what really went down between the two of them when he burst into her house the day before turning himself in to police.
Sources close to the reality star say she has feared filing for divorce while Nida was free but that the documents have already been drawn up:
"Phaedra has been patiently waiting for Apollo to begin serving his prison sentence, and will have him served with divorce papers at the correctional facility in Kentucky. There was no way Phaedra was going to put her life on hold for the next decade, awaiting Apollo to be released. The marriage was a huge mistake, but did give her their beloved kids. There were serious trust issues with Apollo, and Phaedra suspects he has been unfaithful, and has been burning through money. Phaedra has always been the breadwinner, and she began to resent it."
Do you think Parks will come clean with DeGeneres? The talk-show host isn't known for hard-hitting interviews. Do you think Parks purposely chose her because of her laid-back interviewing style? Will you tune in to hear Parks's side of the story? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
