There are few DJs / producers out there right now with the amount of hype as Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll known professionally as Kygo, has. His remixes on soundcloud have racked up millions of plays and have been championed by the likes of Diplo, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran. He also just inked a mega-deal with Sony in the US and Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment in the UK for his upcoming album, that though the details of the deal have not been disclosed, Billboard indicates they are in the realm of something that would be given to Skrillex, deadmau5 or Benny Benassi.
With his debut artist album set for release conveniently before Coachella (this could be an indication he will playing there), Kygo is now starting to slowly reveal what his new music will sound like. He took to his Facebook (via Dancing Astronaut) to share an all too short snippet of what an upcoming track would sound like. We see him playing on his midi keyboard, creating a vintage Kygo melody that will only sound better when put into a full song.
He is coming off of a sold-out summer tour across the United States, playing in hot spots like New York City and Los Angeles. The Norwegian rising star has taken the dance music scene by storm and it is only a matter of time before he ends up conquering the pop world as well. His idol is Avicii and don't be surprised if he ascends to the same DJ throne that Avicii sits on. At the large dance music festival, TomorrowWorld, Kygo replaced Avicii on the main stage after the Swedish DJ had to pull out due to lingering health issues, giving more to their connection and showing Kygo can transcend the small clubs or pool parties his down-tempo, chilled out sound might traditionally be confined to.
Listen to the preview for his upcoming song in the frustratingly short Instagram preview below and pray we will hear more from him soon.
