It is hard to attempt to keep up with the scandal that has overrun June Shannon's family. What is certain is that her rekindled relationship with Mark McDaniel, a man who served time for molesting Shannon's daughter Anna Cardwell, caused TLC to abruptly cancel Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Instead of distancing itself from the family, it has actually supported Shannon's children, who have been devastated by the turn of events. They have been paid in full for the last season of the reality show that filmed but will never air and have also been offered counseling. It seems there has been a new rumor nearly ever day, but Shannon has opted to stay quiet.
Until now.
Entertainment Tonight managed to score a full, sit-down, explosive new interview with Shannon that is scheduled to air tonight, and she has attempted to use this opportunity to tell her side of the story. Unfortunately, while putting to rest the notion that McDaniel actually fathered her daughter Lauryn, Shannon reveals that the real father of Lauryn and her sister Jessica is also a sex offender!
According to the interview:
"Shannon also revealed for the first time her claim that Pumpkin's biological father is also the father of her 18-year-old daughter Jessica. His name is Michael Anthony Ford, he is a convicted sex offender who served time for sexual exploitation of minors after being caught on To Catch a Predator in 2005.
"Jessica and Pumpkin have the same dad, but Jessica's dad has had nothing to do with her over the years," Shannon said. "So, why the hell would I open up that can of worms until today? I lied to my family and told them it was somebody else."
Apparently, Shannon thought that by telling her side of things it would somehow make her more of a sympathetic character. Instead, she comes across as vindictive and nasty. She also admits to not believing her 8-year-old daughters' allegations of abuse at McDaniel's hands. Shannon's twisted logic for making the choices she has is more than a little hard to understand.
