Out-spoken rocker Ted Nugent took to Twitter after a Ferguson grand jury decided not to indict police officer Darren Wilson for the killing of African American teenager Michael Brown. The "Stranglehold" singer took the side of Wilson, saying justice was served for the whole ordeal that took place in August. Other artists like Macklemore, Pharrell Williams and Killer Mike expressed their displeasure with the verdict previously.
"DarrenWilson did good MichaelBrown did bad justice is served," Nugent wrote on Monday (Nov. 24) after the announcement, Ultimate Classic Rock reports. That wasn't all the always political Nugent has to say, either.
Riots broke out for weeks following the Aug. 9 shooting, and people began taking sides. Nugent supports Wilson's plea that he was acting in self-defense, which the grand jury agreed with on Monday. The other side believes that Wilson was not in enough danger and used excessive force against the 18-year-old.
Pharrell said he was "heartbroken" over the decision. Run the Jewels rapper Killer Mike gave an emotional speech during a performance about the incident.
"We are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequence of his actions," Brown's family wrote in a statement. "While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen."
