Ted Nugent revealed what he wants in the future after announcing his final tour.
In April, Nugent confirmed the beginning of his Adios Mofo '23 tour, which would serve as his final trek before his retirement, citing his desire to spend more time with his family as the reason behind the decision. However, he clarified that the last tour would not be the end of his career as a musician.
Ted Nugent Shares Plans After Touring Retirement
In an exclusive interview with Ultimate Classic Rock and Culture, Nugent talked about his final run on stage as a musician after decades of doing it for decades.
When the 74-year-old "Great White Buffalo" singer was asked about what the opening night of his final tour looked like, he talked about the opening night that happened 65 years ago and said that every gig has been an important one for him.
On the other hand, he talked about his show the night before, sharing that he played 4 percent of his favorite songs. Although his current tour leg is his final show, Nugent clarified that he would always create music and play guitar every day.
"I'm a fighter. I still am really energized. I'm in good shape, I still have fire-breathing passion for my life, liberty and gonzo happiness," he went on. "So I'll always play, but I will never do an organized tour."
Aside from continuing his music career, the "Cat Scratch Fever" singer revealed he is also working on his memoir - which he plans to call "Stranglehold - that will tell the story of his life being clean and sober for 75 years.
Ted Nugent's Touring Retirement
Nugent let his fans know about his touring retirement plans in a YouTube video in April. The legendary "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" rocker expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him and helped him achieve his musical dream.
In the same clip, he shared that his dream would continue even after ending his tour. Nugent's farewell tour officially started on July 20 at the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center in Shipshewana, Indiana, and would continue until the last day on Aug. 11 at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill in Detroit.
