Finally, there is some good news to come out of the Love & Hip Hop franchise. Yesterday in New York, Yandy Smith welcomed her second child with Mendeecees Harris. The couple checked in to a city hospital ahead of the huge blizzard, and by late yesterday night, Jan. 26, Harris confirmed that their daughter had finally been born. Fans of the couple will get a firsthand account of the happy occasion because at least part of it was filmed by VH1 for LHH, according to Bossip.
It is especially nice to hear of this couple's good news for a change. For more than a year Harris was grabbing headlines because of his rumored part in a drug trafficking ring that ran from New York City to upstate New York until the police broke it up, according to Music Times. Harris spent more than a year behind bars and still has a trial in connection to the felony charges still hanging over his head. Smith spent almost an entire season of LHH trying to figure out what exactly was going on with her man's case so she could finally get him out on bail.
While Harris is currently a free man, he could still be put away for decades if convicted, leaving Smith to raise their two children and also his older son. Adding to the family was a calculated risk the couple decided to take. They chose to keep building the life they want together while hoping for the best. Smith has always insisted that Harris is innocent, but prosecutors seemed to have a pretty tight case against him.
