Love & Hip Hop New York's Mendeecees Harris has been grabbing headlines recently after striking a plea deal in a years-old drug trafficking case. Harris' legal troubles first became newsworthy back in 2013 when he was arrested and thrown in jail in a facility in upstate New York, where he sat until love, Yandy Smith, finally managed to bail him out a year later. The couple has downplayed his legal issues and instead focused on expanding their family while VH1's cameras rolled so Harris striking a deal that carries a lengthy prison term seemed to come out of nowhere. 'LHH' Mendeecees Harris Headed to Prison After Pleading Guilty to Drug Trafficking
Fans of Love & Hip Hop NY have been wondering for the last year whatever became of that drug trafficking case that left Mendeecees Harris locked up for more than a year until Yandy Smith was finally able to bail out her man last spring. Harris was originally charged with running a drug ring between NYC and Rochester from 2005-2012 with his brother, Tyrus Harris and good friend, Ronald Walker. Both have plead guilty to the charges and as of now, Walker is serving 10 years in federal prison. While Harris has maintained his innocence since being released on bail, he recently struck a deal with prosecutors that was hinged on him entering a guilty plea. -

Finally, there is some good news to come out of the "Love & Hip Hop" franchise. Yesterday in New York, Yandy Smith welcomed her second child with Mendeecees Harris. The couple checked in to a city hospital ahead of the huge blizzard, and by late yesterday night, Jan. 26, Harris confirmed that their daughter had finally been born. Fans of the couple will get a firsthand account of the happy occasion because at least part of it was filmed by VH1 for "LHH," according to Bossip. -

The official cast for the upcoming winter season of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop New York" has finally been announced, and a lot of the regulars have decided to take a season off by leaving the network to add several new faces to the mix. Two who will be returning, though, are Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris. If you are a fan of the show, then you already know that Smith spent months fighting to get Harris out of jail after he was incarcerated in upstate New York.Harris was finally released on $600,000 bail last April after being locked up for 15 months, and he is still facing trial based on charges that he allegedly helped to run a drug pipeline from New York City to the Rochester region. Smith may have come up with the money to get her man out, but their troubles are far from over. Add to that the fact that Smith is currently expecting their second child while also raising Harris's older son and you get the makings of an interesting storyline. -

Rumors have swirled that she was looking like she might be pregnant and finally her on/off boyfriend of about 7 years, Mendeecees Harris posted a photo on Instagram confirming that she is definitely with child. The couple also has an almost 2-year old son together and while they have found fame on the VH1 reality show that doesn't mean that life is perfect by any means.
