Every once in a while, Lindsay Lohan and her mother, Dina Lohan, make news for cooking up an interesting scheme together. Apparently, they've decided to begin the year with an interesting twist -- a defamation lawsuit against Fox News Channel and Sean Hannity. The Lohan's feel that they were smeared by the network and nearly a year after the incident in question occurred, they're looking for a payday.
According to a report by TMZ, Lilo and Dina have sued the network because of comments made during Hannity's show on Feb. 4, 2014. "In the lawsuit -- obtained by TMZ -- there was a discussion about recently deceased celebs, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, regarding celebrity drug use. The panel was discussing who might die next. Michelle Fields said, "Lindsay Lohan's mom is doing cocaine with her" -- insinuating Lindsay would be the next to go." says the source.
In response to the suit, Fox has come out swinging because according to them, not only did they issue an on-air apology almost immediately to the mother-daughter duo, they also kept the video of that up on their website for an extended period of time. When Fox reached out to the Lohan's to apologize and informed them of what steps they had taken to correct their loose lips, there was no response.
This lawsuit seems to have come out of thin air and the network has already stated that they intend to fight it. What's interesting is that the actress has admitted to cocaine use in the past and she has accused her mother of doing the same on the record, so these accusations, while mean, were really nothing new!
Why do you think that Lilo and Dina decided to go after Fox News Channel now, a full year after they were both accused of being coke heads? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
