Lindsay Lohan is in London starring in the West End stage version of Speed-the-Plow, which has garnered mixed reviews. Some critics have blasted her performance while a few seem to think she is doing a "good" job of keeping herself together. At least Lohan is showing up and delivering on some level. Over the weekend, Oprah Winfrey attended a show and Lohan posted a photo with her on Twitter referring to Winfrey as her "fairy godmother." Last spring, Lohan's docu-series aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network, presenting the troubled star in a realistic light. Viewers watched as Lohan battled to stay clean, argued with producers and refused to show up and do her job. Everyone figured it would be a few forgettable episodes, but it seems Winfrey is giving Lohan a second season.
In a recent Marie Claire UK interview, Lohan dished on her busy schedule and mentioned filming another season for her OWN show.
"[Documentary series] 'Lindsay' will start filming again in January, but you know, I also like doing a lot of work with kids," she said. "Oprah is building more schools in Africa, so I think that's where I'll be going after the play. We take a lot for granted and it's good to step outside yourself sometimes and look at what you have and go, 'Wow, my life's pretty good.' You go and see these children who have no idea what's going on in the world and they're suffering and it's those moments that change you and wake you up. We forget to do that. It's so important to slow down."
The ratings the first time around were miniscule, so Winfrey is not giving Lohan another season because it is what the fans want to see. Obviously, she has another motive motivating this venture.
Do you think she wants to give Lohan another shot at changing people's opinions and getting it right, or is Winfrey's personal connection to Lohan perhaps clouding her judgment? Will you tune in to watch a second season of Lohan's docu-series? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
