Ian 'H' Watkins receives apology in court for having his picture posted next to the Lostprophets pedophile story by E! Online

There was recently some serious confusion when E! Online published a photo of Steps singer Ian "H" Watkins (known as '"H") next to a story about the conviction of former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins after he plead guilty to 13 counts of sexual offense, including attempting to rape a baby.

After much turmoil for 'H' and his family, it has been sorted out in court and acknowledged that he was wrongfully associated with the story.

On Facebook earlier today, "H" wrote: "In Court this morning E! have publically apologised to me and a statement has been read in court to make the position clear. This was not something that I did lightly but it was important to me that a public statement was made so that there is no confusion going forward. I am really pleased that it has been resolved so quickly so that my family and I can try and move on from what has been an extremely distressing time."

Ian Watkins, of Lostprophets, was sentenced on Wednesday in Cardiff Crown Court and was given a 29-year jail sentence and an extended license for six years after pleading guilty to 13 sexual offences. In addition to his sentencing, two co-defendants who were also involved in the offences were sentenced. The first one, who is being referred to as Mother A, received 14 years in prison while Mother B was sentenced to 17 years.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle, who was the Senior Investigation Officer, spoke about the results of the trial. Here's what he said, according to NME:

"Today's sentence reflects the gravity of the crimes that have been committed. The three paedophiles responsible for the terrible abuse of two babies have now been brought to justice. The investigation uncovered the most disturbing child abuse evidence I have seen in my 28 years as a police officer. The guilty pleas have ensured that the jury were spared from viewing evidence that would have been extremely traumatic."
