Toto and Yes Touring Together; Original Bassist David Hungate Back Following Death of Mike Porcaro

Eighties icons Toto are taking to the road with another group of classic rockers, Yes, as part of a duel tour across the United States (from Billboard).

"Promoters always want to lump together bands who made records in the late '70s and early '80s, but until now we've avoided touring with the obvious people," said Steve Lukather, guitarist for Toto. "But Yes are childhood heroes of ours, so this pairing is a dream come true. Plus, maybe we'll win over some new fans, because we've always had a prog-y edge to us."

It's been a year of ups and downs for Toto, to be sure. The last few weeks have been happy ones, as the band cracked the Billboard 200 for the first time in 25 years with its new album Toto XIV. That comes hot on the heals of sadder news, as longtime bassist Mike Porcaro—who was with the group from 1982-'08—passed away from ALS during March. Original bassist David Hungate will be back with the group for this tour.
