Earlier this, Frank Ocean confirmed that his new album, the follow-up to his debut Channel Orange, would be coming this summer Now he is set to tour the UK with James Blake for the 1-800-Dinosaur road trip. Ocean joins the previously announced Airhead, Dan Foat, Klaus, Trim and Mr. Assister for the jaunt, which hits Bristol, Manchester and London on April 9, 10, and 12, NME reports.
Ocean is billed as BOYSDONTCRY, which is also the rumored name of his upcoming album. Blake announced the addition on Instagram, writing, "To be frank we are announcing BOYSDONTCRY to the line up for the 1-800 Road Trip."
Ocean is set to release the new album in July. He first hinted at the news on Tumblr, using the hashtags, #ISSUE1 #ALBUM3 #JULY 2015 #BOYSDONTCRY along with a photo of himself in front of a pile of magazines and the caption, "I got two versions. I got twoooo versions."
Little information has been made available regarding Ocean's third studio album. However, he has been spotted in the studio over the last year and was reportedly working with prolific rapper Lil B. According to Rolling Stone, Pharrell, Danger Mouse, Rodney Jenkins and Hit-Boy are among the producers rumored to be collaborating with Ocean on the new LP.
Ocean's new album is one of the most anticipated new releases of 2015. It's the immediate follow-up to his critically acclaimed breakout album Channel Orange, which was released in July 2012. Channel Orange went on to be nominated for two Grammys in 2013, including Album of the Year. The record eventually took home the award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Earlier this year, Ocean reignited fan excitement by covering Aaliyah's 1994 rendition of "At Your Best (You Are Love)," and Isley Brothers track from 1976, for what would have been the late R&B singer's 36 birthday.
Last November, he put out the first taste of his new material with the lo-fi song "Memrise," via his Tumblr page.
