Drake & Future's 'What a Time to Be Alive' Mixtape Set to Drop on Sunday

During his set at Atlanta's Music Midtown Festival, Drake confirmed the rumored joint mixtape with Future. Now, the project, tited What a Time to Be Alive, has received a release date. The tape is set to drop on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Drake followed up with his announcement by sharing the artwork and album title on Instagram. He also revealed that this week's OVO SOUND Radio on Beats 1 would be delayed. The full-length collaborative effort will reportedly drop at 8 EST on iTunes. Drizzy reportedly alluded to the release date on Friday, telling the ATL crowd, "Sunday will be madness."

As previously reported, it was DJ Skee who initially hinted at the project when he sent out a tweet suggesting that two of the hottest artists in the hip-hop game were coming together to drop a collaborative project out of nowhere. After much speculation and even a little bit of trolling, things have actually come to fruition.

Aside from his collaborative work with Future, Drake has also been working on putting out his Views From The 6 album. In August, he mentioned the album's release while commemorating the platinum status of If You're Reading This It's Too Late, which became the first million-selling album of 2015. The surprise release sold another 8,000 copies in the week ending Aug. 7, making it the first album released in 2015 to sell a million copies in the U.S. IYRTITL has sold 1.007 million units since its February release and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The "Percocet & Stripper Joint" rapper is also looking to release more solo work. While wrapping his performance at the 2015 Made In America festival, Future announced his plans to release another album this year on the heels of his highly successful DS2. The new album would also follow Future's impressive mixtape output consisting of Monster, 56 Nights and Beast Mode.
