Panic! At The Disco Announce New Album 'Death of a Bachelor' with Lengthy Note

After officially releasing three singles and recently teasing a new album on Instagram and Twitter, Panic! At The Disco have finally announced the details of their forthcoming fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor, due out early next year.

Today's announcement unearthed itself via a long-winded Facebook post from energetic frontman Brandon Urie, who is the last remining founding member of the band. (According to a message written on the band's website, the second-to-last original member, Spencer Smith, had left the band in April due to his stuggles with drugs and alcohol.)

"When I was a little kid and I heard a song I liked on TV, I would jump up and run to the piano to try and figure it out by ear," he said. "When I was 10 or 11, I built myself a drum kit in the garage made out of empty laundry detergent buckets, old lawn chairs, pain cans and old trash cans. Around that time, my parents got me my first guitar. A baby acoustic. I jumped between all of these instruments constantly to satisfy the ideas I heard in my head. At this young age, I realized that music would play a huge part in my life. I had no idea."

He goes on to discuss the new record. "Death of a Bachelor is in honor of those times I spent alone as a kid. Allowing music to consume me. Playing everything myself just to get the idea right and out of my head. It's a beginning to a new era. And an homage to how it all began," he wrote. "This album is me. Running to the piano. Building a drum kit. Strumming a guitar. Some things never change."

The announcement of Death of a Bachelor follows Panic! At The Disco's release of "Hallelujah," "Victorious" and "Emperor's New Clothes." The new album is due out on Jan. 15, 2016, via DCD2/Fueled by Ramen. You can pre-order the album via iTunes and get the first three singles instantly.

The band will also be performing three intimate shows in London, Los Angeles and New York in support of the release.
