Eric Prydz has already been causing quite a stir just two episodes in with newly launched Beats 1 radio show. In his first episode, the "Liberate" producer unveiled 9 brand new unreleased tracks over the course of his 2-hour mix and over the weekend, he was back for a brand new mix jam-packed with new exclusives. To kick off the show he opened with a bit of a "curveball." That curveball being a brand new collaboration with one half of Knife Party and former Pendulum member, Rob Swire, titled "Breathe."
The track is a bit different from both artists. Rob Swire as both Knife Party and Pendulum has been known to make high-energy, powerful music, while Prydz goes for long melodic builds. The pair now have something that skews more towards what Prydz does, but with a twist. It has the strengths that you expect from Prydz with his strong and hypotonic melodies, but there is a subtle drum n bass influences bass line and the vocals from Swire, which haven't been heard like this in years add a different element to the tune.
This is the first real vocal track we have heard from Swire in quite some time. He assist on the comical Knife Party tracks, but those are never lyrics with hooks and verses. He worked with deadmau5 as the vocalist on "Ghosts N Stuff," which helped propel him individually into the mainstream EDM conscious.
The track was just one of many unveiled on Prydz's mix. This comes after three months of releasing 22 brand new tracks on the Pryda 10 album. It is pretty absurd to see how much unreleased music Pryda has in his library. Let's hope this is released before the end of the decade.
