New Jersey was lit over the weekend when Paterson's own Fetty Wap joined music legends Mary J Blige, Puff Daddy, Lil Kim, Jadakiss and many more for Hot 97's sold out #Hot4TheHolidays Concert. Headlined by Busta Rhymes, the Remy Boyz front man took to the stage with his team for a high energy performance of his hits, including "Trap Queen", "679" and "My Way."
Although he's still recovering from his leg injury, Fetty Wap made sure to work the stage, interacting with fans in his home state. The concert was the latest milestone in the rappers monumental year and comes only a week after his latest EP, For My Fans, dropped. Other notable Jersey MC's were backstage showing support from Naughty By Nature to Queen Latifah. It's a good week for Fetty Wap, he's also celebrating his first Grammy Nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for "Trap Queen," despite being shut out of the Best New Artist Category. Elsewhere, hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes took to the stage to celebrate 25 years in the music business. Coming out in a Coming To America inspired King of Zumunda outfit, he ripped through his biggest hits and brought out a slew of guest, most notably Puff Daddy, Sean Paul and Mariah Carey who sang her hook from their 2002 hit "I Know What You Want."
Mary J Blige (fresh off her well received performance in The Wiz) brought out Lil Kim and Method Man to perform their iconic collaborations, "I Can Love You" and "You're All I Need," respectively. Method Man later came out with Red Man to run through some of their hits as well.
Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, The Lox, Raekwon, Jeremih, French Montana, and Junior Reid rounded out the star-studded hip-hop affair.
