Who here among us hasn't dreamed of being a pop star, mimicking along to some sunshine-y dance music in your bedroom? I know I have, and so does Kylie Minogue. Today (May 26), the Aussie pop music icon released her new music video for her cancer charity single "Crystallize," and the endearing video lets someone else dream of stardom from her bedroom.
The storyline for "Crystallize" begins very much like the recent music video for Sia's "Chandelier," albeit with a peppier outlook. A teenage girl, dressed in humble pajamas, mimes along to "Crystallize," complete with that stereotypical hairbrush in her hand. She zooms across her room, doing those adorable types of dance moves one does in private.
As the song goes on, the teen's fantasy world of being a pop star becomes more intense. Soon: she's in a rehearsal outfit, a little more glamorous skirt and shirt number, as she twirls about her room. Then, her hairbrush is traded in for a full-on yellow microphone. Eventually, she's in full blown singer mode, with a flashy new outfit, an arena-sized stage and even backup dancers playing along with her now flawlessly choreographed moves.
"Crystallize" is a proper dream come true, even if that dream is interrupted by a curious mom at one point or another...
Unlike "Chandelier," the less elusive Kylie Minogue makes several appearances throughout "Crystallize," pulling together the music video with her own choreographed dance moves.
