It's been awhile, but soon there will be new music from Pink. On Monday (April 4), over three years after releasing her last album The Truth About Love, the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer announced that she will be releasing a new single "Just Like Fire" for the Alice Through the Looking Glass soundtrack later this month.
Pink made the big single announcement on her Twitter, revealing that "Just Like Fire" will be released on Friday, April 15. And, the single should be (as the title implies) straight fire. According to Entertainment Weekly, Pink joined forces with super hit makers Max Martin, Shellback and Oscar Holter in writing and producing the track.
Pink's original soundtrack contribution for Alice Through the Looking Glass should be no major surprise. In February, Disney revealed that Pink covered the Jefferson Airplane classic "White Rabbit" for the film's trailer, giving the song her signature raspy pop-rock edge. And, in a one minute long featurette, she actually spilled the beans that she would be writing and recording an original song for the OST.
The new song will precede the release of Alice Through the Looking Glass, which is set to hit theatres on May 20.
"Just Like Fire" will mark a triumphant return to pop music for Pink, whose last album The Truth About Love, which featured the hit singles "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," "Try" and "Just Give Me a Reason," was released in September 2012.
However, Pink wasn't totally absent from the music scene. Two years ago, she teamed up with Dallas Green to form You+Me. The folk duo released its surprisingly solid album Rose Ave. in October 2014.
