Rick Ross Arrested After North Carolina Concert for Old Marijuana Charges

If you're going to perform in a certain town, it may be best to look into whether or not there's a warrant there for your arrest. That's a lesson rapper Rick Ross learned the hard way Friday night (June 27), when he was arrested in North Carolina.

According to TMZ, the Maybach Music boss was arrested by police in Greensboro, North Carolina, on June 27 following a performance at the Greensboro Coliseum. His brief entrance into jail stemmed not from a recent legal squabble but from Ross' failure to appear in court last year in response to a marijuana possession charge.

His missed court date led to a warrant for his arrest and police found Ross after his performance at SuperJam 2014.

Despite his lyrical reputation as a hardened criminal, Ross was reportedly very cooperative with police and is no longer in their custody after posting bail.

This isn't the first time Ross has been arrested. In 2008, he was taken into custody on gun and marijuana charges in Miami. Ross has also faced assault and battery charges, copyright infringement cases and other small drug charges.

Ross' arrest comes in the wake of his new album Mastermind, which was released on March 4.
