Ted Nugent, Jack White, The Black Keys: Motor City Madman Doesn’t Get The White Stripe’s Sound

Detroit's own Motor City Madman Ted Nugent is notorious for speaking his mind. And in a recent interview with Fuse, it appears he did just that. The guitarist spoke with the site about his upcoming album, SHUTUP&JAM, his July 4 plans and his thoughts on everyone's favorite rocker, Jack White.

Nugent caught the former White Stripe's recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and evidently he just didn't get it. Despite everyone's positive feedback on the show, Nugent told Fuse White didn't make him want to "shake a tail feather."

"It did not make me want to shimmy. But I'm spoiled because I came up around––and created––the ultimate shimmy music of all time. I'm not hearing a tight groove [with Jack White]."

The "Cat Scratch Fever" crooner then noted his interest in a band feuding with the Lazaretto artist, the Black Keys. According to Nugent, the Keys "grab" him, "but not as much as it grabs some of the other people that rave about them. They have a nice funk thing going on and it reminds me of Funkadelic, but it's not quite grinding enough for me. I think the Chili Peppers outgrind the Black Keys."

Nugent continued, "Their music is intoxicating between Flea and Chad Smith."

And being that July 4 is approaching, the musician touched on his plans, which consist of eating "sacred flesh."

"It's all sacred flesh that we accept as gifts from God and the great spirit," Nugent said. "Everything we kill really is a sacred gift. It's the most organic, pure and healthiest nutrition known to man."

So, are your Independence Day plans as "interesting" as his?
