Gucci Mane has released his new album The Return Of East Atlanta Santa. Just in time for the holidays, this is the third album from Guwop after he was released from prison in the fall. The LP comes doesn't have many features, but Gucci calls upon some big names in Drake, Bryson Tiller and Travis Scott for help.
Back in November, Gucci made the bold proclamation that this would be the "album of the year." While I think there are plenty of people who would dispute that, Gucci may have put out the trap Christmas anthem of the year.
The album opens up with the holiday themed "St. Brick Intro," where he raps over an adapted version of "Jingle Bells," lines like "They call me East Atlanta Santa / Run up on me get murked / I'm just trappin' through the snow / Sellin' nine half a bricks in four ways / Over the hills we go / Got an extendo and an AK."
Though Future isn't on the record, his "if young metro don't trust ya" sample makes it on a few songs.
There are the not so subtle love songs like "Stutter" and the somewhat more romantic tracks like his collabs with Drake and Bryson Tiller.
Then there of course is the braggadocios side of Gucci such as "Nonchalant," where he is "in the strip club chillin' so nonchalant." Don't we all just want that be that cool?
For more adventurous holiday music, St. Brickulous has everything you need with this album. Maybe don't play this for your grandparents (or do).
Gucci is also releasing some special merch to celebrate the album's release. So get some for yourself or that grandma of yours this Brickmas.
Gucci has partnered with Apple Music for an exclusive on this release, so stream it with them below or download it on iTunes.
