The milestone 300th episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was written to be the show’s love letter to the fans who have been watching for the past 14 years. The recently returned executive producer Krista Vernoff is the writer of the episode which will fall in the first half of the current season 14.
Vernoff said that she tried to imbue more joy and more light and more humor to the 300th episode and at the same time took it as an appropriate moment to look back according to TV Line. She said, “If there is a feel to the episode, it is nostalgia. And if there is a theme of the episode, it is the ghosts of our past.”
The “Grey’s Anatomy” co-creator also revealed that she found a way to pay small tributes to everyone who has been in the show before. Other than that, Vernoff is not revealing any details plot-wise. The official air date of episode 300 has not also been announced.
Meanwhile, fans are still reeling from the two-hour “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 premiere. Their biggest takeaway from it is the revelation that Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) has a brain tumor which would explain her erratic behavior in and out of Grey Sloane.
Then, there is April (Sara Drew) effectively shutting down whatever hopes remain for her relationship with Jackson (Jessie Williams). She is moving out after she decided after Montana that her feelings were much stronger than his. This development could mean a step forward for Jackson and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) to becoming a couple.
Kevin McKidd spoke about how his character, Owen, will handle Amelia’s bombshell reports Entertainment Weekly. Although Owen doesn’t know about the tumor, it doesn’t take him long to find out. He will step up as a husband should even if he will obviously conflicted since there is a possibility that their marriage will not work.
Moving forward in “Grey’s Anatomy,” even if they manage to remove Amelia’s tumor, Owen may end up dealing with a wife with a different personality to the one he married. As it was before the revelation, the tumor has already been affecting all her choices and actions.
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 is off to a good start with all the drama coming from all fronts. The new season continues with episode 3 titled “Go Big or Go Home,” which will air of October 5 on ABC.
