The rumors are true: Lady Gaga is collaborating with pop producer and singer-songwriter Sophie for her highly anticipated follow-up to 2016's Joanne.
Sophie x Lady Gaga Song Coming
In a video posted by a fan on Twitter, the Oil of Ever Pearl's Un-Insides artist confirmed the news.
"Yes," she said when the fan asked if the rumored collaboration is really happening. "Whatever, you know. I'm working on a lot of different things. If it comes out, that's cool."
Rumors of the collaboration have been circulating online and around the art pop fandom for a while now. Last week, Mother Monster's longtime producer Bloodpop responded to fans who are requesting for the collaboration to happen with a wink.
Gaga has not publicly spoken about the collaboration.
Lady Gaga's Sixth Album
Lady Gaga has also reportedly reunited with DJ White Shadow, the same producer behind "Applause," in her anticipated sixth album. He has been sharing photos with the singer-songwriter in her own "lab" where she has been crafting her next hit, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Last year, for the fourth anniversary of Artpop, DJ White Shadow wrote a lengthy message recounting the struggles of working on the chart-topping album. He also suggested that Gaga's next album will be its "little sister." Immediately after, he recanted and clarified that the still-untitled project would not be a rehash of its predecessor.
Forbes, meanwhile, reveals that the A Star Is Born actress might be working on not one, but three albums. The site says that Gaga has been spotted going in and out of recording studios across the United States.
The Grammy-winning artist also previously debuted a new song at the Indianapolis stop of her world tour. According to fans, the song is called "Frankensteined" and it is about putting one's self back together.
In a post last month, producer and songwriter Mark Nilan Jr. posted a short video of the 32-year-old conducting an orchestra inside a recording studio. The orchestra will likely be for a song from her upcoming album.
You can go ahead and add conducting to the long list of her skills. We had the orchestra coming in. Music prepared. Then decided to add orchestra to 1 more song, with 1 hour before the start time. We wrote this orchestra arrangement in an hour. With pencil and paper. I literally wore thru 4 pencils. Have yet to come across anyone that can pull that off these days... And it sounds EPIC. Wait til u hear it. @ladygaga
