Artists and singers have always been expressive of their love and admiration towards each other, may it be by complimenting them on social media or even showing up at their concerts secretly.
But for Foo Fighters' lead vocalist Dave Grohl, he expressed his love for the Swedish pop group ABBA by wearing a hoodie at the recently concluded Glastonbury Festival.
To return the love, ABBA's Benny Andersson made a short cover of the rock band's GRAMMY-winning song Learn To Fly.
Dave Grohl Spotted On Glastonbury Wearing ABBA Hoodie
The Foo Fighters' lead singer Dave Grohl was among the many artists who graced the stage of the Glastonbury Festival last weekend.
His surprise appearance on Sir Paul McCartney's headline set comes as a shock as this is his first public performance since the death of his bandmate Taylor Hawkins.
Grohl performed with McCartney a string of songs, including Band On The Run.
But what is not surprising is his admiration for ABBA, as he has professed his love for the band ever since.
In a BBC Interview, Grohl detailed how he "wept like a baby" after hearing the release of ABBA's 2021 hit Voyage.
"It's amazing. ABBA can do no wrong. And I love that they have done no wrong - they just waited, what, for 40 years to do another song, it's so good!"Grohl elaborated happily.
Grohl was not the only one fanboying over ABBA. Music icon and former Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain was also a big fan of the four-piece group.
When Nirvana headlined the Reading festival in 1992 and were given the power to choose their supporting bill, the Aberdeen, Washington trio selected ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again to open the main stage. (via Louder Sound)
To reciprocate the love, ABBA's Benny Andersson made a special cover for the Foo Fighters bandleader.
ABBA Benny Andersson Sang Foo Fighters Song
To return the love for Dave Grohl, ABBA's very own Benny Andersson took the time to play Foo Fighters' Learn To Fly on the piano. Not only did Andersson perform a cover of the song, but like Grohl, he also proudly wore a Foo Fighters T-shirt, which he happily showed at the end of the 18-second clip.
ABBA's Voyage is still taking place in London, and feature the group as virtual avatars, like how they appeared in 1979. The concerts take place at the venue at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
