Jonathan Davis did not hold back his opinion about the music industry in a recent interview as he revealed that the music scene doesn't value artists' talents anymore.
Along with Evanescene vocalist Amy Lee, the two spoke to Interview Magazine to discuss all things music.
The conversation about talent in the music industry started when the Korn frontman complimented the singer's cover of a song, saying he's stingy whenever he gives out compliments to other people.
He noted that he's "into talent" but the music scene "has moved on to a place where it doesn't matter about talent. It's about how talented the engineer is at faking everything." (via Loudwire)
Amy Lee appeared to agree with Davis' sentiments as she noted that many people only see personalities rather than real talent because of the new generation.
"It's more about a personality than the actual song. I've seen their Instagram but like, what is their music? What does that mean to you? But I don't want to be the old person complaining," she added.
The Evanescence frontwoman added that they're both purists and their opinions are valid. Davis concluded his thoughts by saying it's "cool" that the public is enjoying music and that's all that matters.
Lee later noted that she's excited about the music scene because of "a lot of good stuff," especially in the world of heavy rock that continues to grow and expand through the years.
She's also looking forward to seeing their tour opening lineup because there would be several music acts instead of one, which she considers a "rad combination of cool things."
