As musicians would always say, the show must go on! This is what exactly happened to Pearl Jam when they performed at the legendary Apollo theater over the weekend.
According to Page Six, the band played their classic hits at the iconic venue in Harlem for a private SiriusXM Small Stage Series concert where they overcame technical difficulties, but it didn't hinder them from hyping the crowd.
Eddie Vedder addressed the crowd when they encountered the first problem, saying they have to "reboot the computer" that would not take longer than one minute.
However, the outlet noted that the reboot took more than the time they promised. This led the frontman to talk to the audience filled with big stars like Megyn Kelly, Heidi Klum, Robin Quivers, and John McEnroe.
He also sang "Keep Me In Your Heart" by Warren Zevon without the mic as people from behind figured out how to fix the technical issues. (via Variety)
In addition, Vedder kept calm and clarified that the fiasco they experienced was not caused by anyone on the staff.
After the problem was sorted out, they immediately performed again which was streamed live on SiriusXM.
They took fans to memory lane by performing some of their classic hits like "Better Man" and also gave them new and exciting songs from their 2020 record "Gigaton."
Eddie Vedder Shares a Secret That Still Haunts Him Today
Elsewhere during their show, Vedder interacted with fans again by sharing a story that kept haunting him for the past 33 years.
He recalled a moment when he was starting out in the music industry, a girl approached him at the airport and told him "I don't want to bother you." He replied in a rude manner, saying "then don't."
"It felt like my first wrestling match all over again! I've been living with this for 33 years," he said.
Vedder admitted that he was a "rude individual" at the time, so he would like to offer his apologies to the unknown girl.
He tried his luck during the concert in hopes of apologizing to the girl in person, asking the crowd, "If you are out there, I was a rude individual at the time, all apologies."
Some fans poked fun at the situation, claiming they were the girl he was talking about.
