Willie Nelson renewed the worries his family and fans felt through the bombshell revelation in his memoir.

This month, Nelson finally introduced his new memoir, "Me and Paul: Untold Stories of a Fabled Friendship, the 89-year-old On the Road Again," to his fans. The book reportedly immortalized Paul English the same way his song, "Me and Paul" did, as he remembered his right-hand man, who also served as his accountant, bodyguard, and drummer.

Aside from exploring their seven decades of friendship, Nelson also made his side suicide confession in the memoir, leaving everyone worried.

According to the "Seven Spanish Angels" crooner, he once attempted to commit suicide as he was "feeling so bad until he lay his head on some lonesome railroad line and let it ease his troubled mind" while in a bar.

After 15 minutes, the country singer reportedly went back inside the bar to consume more alcohol. As he successfully went through the dark time, he finally found his place in the industry when Patsy Cline recorded his song in 1961.

An insider disclosed to Radar Online that Nelson thought he needed to work hard because he feared that everything might disappear in the end. But instead of ending his own life, the music legend reportedly wants to die on stage while doing what he loves - singing.

Willie Nelson Does Not Want To Retire

Resonating the insider's comment, Nelson indeed said he would probably never retire. For the singer, it is something he does not want to think about.

In an interview with Parade, he said he does not want to feel worried about his last days. Instead, he wants to enjoy the good life he has now while living the best that he can.

"I wrote a song called "Pay for the Day." You've got to do something to pay for the day. I get up, I jog a little bit. I do little workouts, and singing is good, too, for my lungs. That's another thing my entire body misses [during the quarantine]," he said.

When asked what his secret to having a good life, he reminded everyone to "think positive" - just like what he did when he almost claimed his own life.

On top of these, Nelson plans to hold concerts in the coming years.
