Is U2 disbanding very soon?

U2 leader Bono has confessed that the band pondered calling it quits several times throughout their nearly 50-year tenure.

The 22-time Grammy Award winner revealed that everyone of the band's four members - himself, Adam Clayton, The Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr - had considered leaving at some point.

In the Disney+ documentary "A Sort of Homecoming," he explained, "I have certainly thought about walking away from U2, every member has. We have all thought about it."

The Irish rock star said, "It is the right instinct to question whether this should still go and what it demands of all four members.

"But the reason why I want to go forward is something is stirring in my voice and my singing and the desire to write songs we don't have yet. We are chasing the dragon of the song we can't get."

The Edge acknowledges that the fact that his band is still intact is extraordinary. In the documentary "the actual magic of U2," he told David Letterman that whatever they needed, from people to resources, was always accessible.

Bono's goals as a political activist frequently taxed them and drove them out of their comfort zone, yet even after all these years, they managed to remain united. The guitarist claims that the band has taught them how to be global citizens.

U2 is regarded as one of the most successful and influential rock bands of all time. The band was founded in 1976 in Dublin, Ireland, by Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion).

U2 has released a number of critically acclaimed and financially successful albums throughout the years, including "The Joshua Tree," "Achtung Baby," and "All That You Can't Leave Behind."

The band has sold over 170 million records worldwide and is the only band in history to have received 22 Grammy Awards. U2's music is noted for its anthemic nature, compelling lyrics, and groundbreaking use of technology and production techniques.

U2 is well-known for its philanthropy and activism, in addition to their musical achievements. Bono has been an outspoken champion for a variety of causes, including poverty, AIDS, and human rights.

The band has also participated in several benefit performances and philanthropic groups, such as the ONE Campaign and (RED), both of which strive to combat poverty and sickness in Africa.
