Corey Taylor shared his thoughts about Slipknot's new mystery member amid the theories surrounding the musician's identity.
Slipknot members have been tight-lipped regarding the identity of their new bandmate following Jones' departure from the band 27 years since joining the group. There have been rumors suggesting several keyboardists who reportedly replaced Jones; others started thinking the keyboardist never left at all.
Corey Taylor Praises New Slipknot Member
Following the quick turn of events within Slipknot, Taylor finally spoke about the new mystery member in an interview with Chaoszine and dropped a hint about the band's "new guy."
Before their performance at Denmark's Copenhell Festival, the singer praised the new member and revealed that his new bandmate "immediately found his way."
"Obviously any time you have a change like that, it makes you kind of have to lean into adversity a little bit. We took a little more time to figure things out, and obviously [find a] new guy," he said. "[He's] good, really good - a total musician."

The new member became the fourth musician to join Slipknot following the arrivals of Alessandro "V-Man" Venturella, Jay Weinberg, and Michael Pfaff. The trio replaced Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, and Chris Fehn, respectively.
Slipknot is yet to reveal the new member's name as the band is too focused on its upcoming shows and performances across Europe and North America.
Taylor's statement ultimately dismissed the theory that Jones probably did not leave at all and only changed his mask instead to "rebrand." The speculation started as Weinberg also debuted a new mask before Slipknot's 2023 tour and wore it for the first time at the Nova Rock Festival - during which the new member joined for the first time.
Corey Taylor Also Supports Slipknot's Original Vocalist
Aside from praising the new member, Taylor also took his time to support Slipknot's original vocalist Anders Colsefni who is set to perform the band's "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat" album on the Nu-Metal Mayhem tour.
He wrote in a Twitter post Friday how much he wished to see his shows. Still, he believes that Colsefni's performances would definitely "crush" everyone.
On the other hand, the vocalist issued a statement to Blabbermouth saying he would perform the 1996 album with the "same level of aggression and volatility" just like how he did when the band released it.
