Daryl Hall ust filed a restraining order against his former bandmate, John Oates, after being embroiled in a lawsuit.

According to reports, the music duo's lawsuit is sealed and categorized as a "contract/debt" dispute which has been going on for quite some time now.

Some reports claim that the lawsuit might be in regards to the pair's "division of royalties or it could be over Oates singing their songs in solo acts."

Perhaps something escalated between the two for one of them to resort to filing a restraining order against the other.

The Hall & Oates duo is known for releasing some of the 70s and 80s biggest hits like "Maneater," 'Private Eyes," "Kiss on My List," "RIch Girl" and more.

A year ago, during Hall's interview with Bill Maher for the latter's Club Random podcast, he gave a little more insight into the feud.

"He's my business partner. He's not my creative partner," Hall said about Oates.

"John and I are brothers, but we are not creative brothers. We are business partners. We made records called Hall & Oates together, but we've always been very separate, and that's a really important thing for me."

Hall & Oates was established in 1972 with the release of their debut studio album "Whole Oats," and they have been together making music and touring up until 2022.

Hall & Oates Disband?

While there is clearly a feud and an accompanying lawsuit going on between Hall and Oates, the pair are yet to announce their disbandment.

According to reports, the pair toured last year and released their latest album "Home For Christmas" in 2006.

Fans did not have a clue that something was going on between them until reports of the lawsuit came up, which surprised them.

Even the most recent update on their feud, the restraining order, still came as a shock to many.

"Out of touch?" One wrote, referencing their song with the same name.

"'...We made records called Hall & Oates together, but we've always been very separate, and that's a really important thing for me.' Time to go watch all their music videos & imagine them hating each other the entire time," another added.

"Fifty-three years together. Now this."

"Hall V. Oates," another put in.

"Anxiously awaiting daryl hall's 'y'all wanna hear a story about why me and this bitch here fell out?'"
