    Dutch DJ, producer Dyro, real name Jordy van Egmond, has grown from a small, undiscovered producer making beats in his bedroom to a global phenomeom with his own label and performing at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world in just a short four years. He was discovered by Laidback Luke as a promising producer on his forum and was quickly snatched up by Hardwell onto his Revealed Records label.

    Fans of horse racing finally got the Triple Crown they had been waiting 37 years for when American Pharoah won at Belmont this weekend, capping off a Spring that included wins at the Preakness Stakes and the Kentucky Derby. It was the first time a horse had won the "Big 3" since Affirmed during 1978, with the horse in question finally sealing the deal in the third race. We say "finally" because it's not as if attempts at the Triple Crown are rare—13 horses won the first two legs of the Crown in the years since 1978—however the lengthier Belmont course often wore down on the hopeful horses. Music Times doesn't know much about racing, but we wanted to pay tribute to the last five Triple Crown winners with a comparable musical act, including Michael Jackson, U2 and more.

    There was obviously some trouble with security at Summer Jam over the weekend, as fans without tickets started a miniature riot and got the New Jersey police to fire tear gas canisters into the fracas. Although it seems as if law enforcement was in the right for that case, rapper 50 Cent alleged that security inside the stadium was a little rough with himself and his G-Unit crew prior to them appearing with Chris Brown onstage.

    Thom Yorke continued his experimentation with ways to release music last year with Tomorrow's Modern Boxes and now the Radiohead frontman has finally announced his first show is support of the album. The declaration actually came from longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, and declared that Yorke would be appearing as part of the Summersonic Festival in Tokyo on August 15.

  • Ice Cube Announces N.W.A. Reunion at BET Experience Concert in L.A.

    Ice Cube announced the biggest hip-hop news of the summer as N.W.A. will apparently reunite in some form for the BET Experience show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 27. It doesn't seem, based on Cube's commentary, that Dr. Dre will not be involved however MC Ren and DJ Yella will take part, as well as special appearances from Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q.

    James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica stopped b the X Games in Austin Texas on Saturday to perform a heavy take on "The Star-Spangeled Banner." Hammett took the lead during the instrumental rendition of the national anthem while Hetfield fulfilled his supporting role with power chords and harmonies.
