Though the band is known for their synthy new wave sound, "The Fatal Gift" is a low-key piano ballad with minimal instrumentation, though they may fill out the arrangement later on, seeing as how this is unfinished. -

N.E.R.D. Share 'Squeeze Me' from Upcoming 'SpongeBob' Movie [LISTEN]
Pharrell Williams's funk/hip-hop outfit N.E.R.D. have shared a new track titled "Squeeze Me," which you can check out below. The track is N.E.R.D.'s first since their 2010 album "Nothing" and is their contribution to the soundtrack for the upcoming "SpongeBob SquarePants" movie, which is being helmed by Pharrell along with his N.E.R.D. bandmate — and Neptunes production partner — Chad Hugo.In true Pharrell fashion, "Squeeze Me" begins with an instrumental four-count, and keeping with the tropical setting and imagery of "SpongeBob SquarePants," the song has a vaguely Caribbean atmosphere to it, like a cross between ska and calypso.You can check out N.E.R.D.'s "Squeeze Me" from "The Spongebob Movie" here, via "Spin": -
Above & Beyond Share Greek Theater Acoustic Show Video Recap [WATCH]
Possibly the most ambitious project ever undertaken by Above & Beyond, the trance super-trio of Tony McGuinness, Paavo Siljamäk and Jono Grant, set out to create an entire album's worth of material from their own back catalog and flip it from its electronic form into a playable acoustic arrangement. Much of 2013 was spent on this project, rearranging some of their existing work, finding the right musicians and rehearsing in anticipation their first show at the Porchester Theater in London on June 19, 2013. After premiered all of the work there at the Porchester Theater, the group took the newly remade sounds from the small London venue outside to the much larger, historic Greek Theater. One of the highlights of 2013 for the group, they got the whole thing on video and created a recap to give fans the highlights of what happened. -

Back in September, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke unexpectedly released his second solo album Tomorrow's Modern Boxes through torrenting site BitTorrent, but just in case there were some people who were turned off or confused by its release method, Yorke has given the album a more conventional release today (Dec. 26) through Bandcamp. In addition to posting the album on Bandcamp (available for £3.86, or $6.00), Yorke has also shared a new track titled "Youwouldn'tlikemewhenI'mangry," which you can check out below. Like Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, "Youwouldn'tlikemewhenI'mangry" is a minimal electronica track with sterile beats, warped synths, and Yorke's trademark falsetto. -

Yesterday, Chicago rappers — and cousins — Chief Keef and Fredo Santana dropped a new collaborative song just in time for Christmas titled "Bodies on the Ground," which you can check out below. As can be expected from these two, the song finds them sluggishly mumbling their way through the track, as if they recorded the first thing out of their mouths when they woke up in the morning. Big Sean Loses Grandmother, Shares Her Inspiring Story on Instagram to Pay Tribute [PHOTOS]
Big Sean's family suffered an unfortunate loss recently when the rapper's grandmother, Mildred V. Leonard, died. She lived a full life, dying at age 93, but Big Sean wanted people to know how full her life was in other aspects. He posted a lengthy story on Instagram about Leonard, who sounds like a truly inspiring person, "Vibe" noted.A graduate of West Virginia State University, Leonard went on to obtain a master's degree as well. She was one of the first African-American females to reach the status of captain in World War II, so she was, like Big Sean wrote, "a true hero."Leonard became a police officer after WWII which, at the time, "was very rare for women to be officers in Detroit." She was also a teacher and counselor, but Sean remembered her as the "best grandma anyone could ever ask for." -

Queen + Adam Lambert ringing in the New Year in London with a small show that you are now invited to watch. The group will stream its Westminister Central Hall gig via BBC Music so fans with an Internet connection can join in on the festivities. The band dropped a trailer for the show Wednesday, Dec. 24, featuring Lambert leading the group on Freddie Mercury's solo tune "I Was Born to Love You," Ultimate Classic Rock notes."I never imagined we would be around to usher in the year of 2015," drummer Roger Taylor said previously. "What a thrill! We promise you a great night."The stream will go live at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 31 as England prepares to ring in the New Year. Watch the show here. Taylor Swift's "1989" moved back into the No. 1 spot on the "Billboard" 200, bringing its total, nonconsecutive weeks at the top to six. It sold 375,000 copies last week, bringing the total for the year to 3.34 million. The record is on pace to overtake the "Frozen" soundtrack, which sold 3.46 million so far. Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint" sits comfortably at the No. 2 spot, "Billboard" notes.Swift is tied with Mariah Carey for total weeks at No. 1 with 30. Only one other woman has them beat with 46: Whitney Houston. The Beatles are still in first for all artists with 132 weeks at No. 1.Pentatonix has the No. 3 spot with "That's Christmas to Me." Minaj was able to crack the top 10 recently, and D'Angelo's new "Black Messiah" hit No. 5. "The Pinkprint" did not perform as well as the artist's previous effort "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." The former sold 244,000 in its first week while the latter hit 253,000 — it also debuted at No. 1.
