Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre Spotted In Studio: Collab In the Works?
Dr. Dre hasn't been musically active in nearly a decade though some fans still have hope that at some time or another the legendary Detox album will magically appear. Snoop Dogg is still working hard diversifying his musical output into more retro disco and funk genres, taking the next step from the soul and funk samples used in his early 1990s tracks that made the Doggfather famous. Now the pair has been spotted in the studio together according to an Instagram post by the Bush rapper with the caption "Guess who bAcc." The two rappers have been responsible for some of the greatest rap songs of all time like "The Next Episode" and "Nuthin But a G Thang." -
DMX Arrested Outside of His Radio City Music Hall Show in NYC
On Friday night (June 29), Rapper DMX was arrested in New York City outside Radio City Music Hall right before he was scheduled to perform at the 'Masters of Ceremony' concert. The concert line-up featured some of hip-hop's best, including Rakim, Mase, Shabba Ranks, The Lox and more. But DMX fans were super disappointed when it was announced that the Ruff Ryder wasn't going to hit the stage. -

Today is a sad one for fans of classic rock, progressive rock, and the bass guitar in general: Chris Squire was one of the most deft and appreciated players of four string to emerge from the first generation of prog rock bands, and played in every one of Yes's concerts for more than 45 years. He'll miss his first show with the band on August 7 when Yes opens a tour with Toto: Unfortunately, Squire succumbed to leukemia this weekend, shortly after he had announced his first hiatus from group. Chris Squire, the legendary bassist and cofounder of Yes, has died at the age of 67. He announced a hiatus from the band during May as a result of recently-diagnosed acute erythroid leukemia. The band is scheduled to begin a new tour on August 7 with Toto, and it will mark the first performance in the group's 46-year history at which Squire will not appear. -

Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory to Merge in 2016
Two of the most esteemed music schools in the country will soon be joining forces, as officials from both the Berklee College of Music and the Boston Conservatory announced Friday that the programs would be merging in the near future. The spacial issues involved with combining two campuses won't be too much of a problem, as both are blocks from each other in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston.
