Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt Interviews Mike Tyson, and It's Fantastic
Bi-annual "Humanity" magazine went above and beyond with its latest interview selection. As it noted in the introduction, Mike Tyson has been interviewed, profiled and written about from every angle, so to do another piece with him via the publication probably would not yield anything interesting. Looking to step outside the box, it asked Odd Future member Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, better known as Earl Sweatshirt — if he would interview Mike Tyson. Both parties agreed to do the interview, and it may be the best thing you read all day, via Complex.Tyson dishes some blunt advice on being young and dumb to the 20-year-old Sweatshirt:Mike: I mean, you're pretty much an idiot at 20.Earl: Right, that's what I feel like. I got to 20, and I —Mike: You're not an idiot, but you are. You don't really think you're an idiot, but you are.Earl: Right.Mike: But you don't think it. London Club Fabric Faces License Review and Possible Closure
Legendary London club Fabric is entering one its most trying times. According to "The Evening Standard," the club is up for a license review that is normally just a formality, but this year is different. Police have called upon the Islington Council to review the club's license after a recent spate of drug-related deaths and hospitalizations stemming from the club. If the council decides to revoke the club's license, the 15-year-old club will most likely be forced to shutter its doors. The option of stripping Fabric of its license is being "strongly considered," according to the police. In the report, Police Commissioner Steve Harrington described their objections to having the club stay open."It attracts clientele from all over Europe and it would seem that the immaturity or lifestyle of these patrons leads to them becoming actively involved in the taking of illegal drugs and this could account for the disproportionate and wholly unacceptable number of deaths and near-death incidents at the venue."The last incident cited by police reportedly saw an 18-year-old woman collapse and die in a hospital after MDMA at the club. -

Kaskade and Killagraham Preview 'The Voice' Coach Gwen Stefani 'Baby Don't Lie' Remix [LISTEN]
Gwen Stefani is swinging for the fences with the first remix from her first solo single in six years: "Baby Don't Lie." "The Voice" coach tabs United States dance music flag bearer Kaskade and Skrillex-approved, Milo & Otis member Killagraham to provide a different and more club-friendly take on her tune. The remix plays off the downtempo, reggae vibe crafted by pop super-producers Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco while adding a heavily distorted bass line over Stefani's percussion. Influenced by the current sounds that Killagraham has been producing with Milo & Otis, the pairing craft a midtmepo, trap influenced break that lets the "Spark rhe Fire" singer's lyrics shine through. It is a big change of direction for Kaskade, but an interesting one for the festival mainstay. The video keeps the original trippy visuals and blatant product placement but speeds up sections, where the Kaskade and Killagraham production work is most evident. This is the first official remix to be revealed thus far, but expect more to make their way onto the Internet sometime soon. -

Sony Email Leak: Snapchat Reportedly Wanted to Start a Record Label
The Sony hack has been devastating for one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world and all its affiliated artists and companies. The latest leak details plans by Snapchat to start its own label as a joint venture with Sony. A leaked email from Snapchat CEO Michael Lynton reveals the company's plans to start a music platform of its own because "every music service in the market is s--t."View the full email from Lynton below, via "Billboard":"Michael,"I was only able to see Evan for about 30 minutes yesterday but that was enough time for him to express his thoughts and leave us with some things to think about if there is going to a music play within Snapchat. He didn't end up showing some of the developments in the platform that may benefit music but referenced them in the discussion. First, he thinks every music service in the market is s--t and he wants to be a curator. He doesn't want to build a music service but he would like to have a record label so he could focus on the artists that he wants to use the platform to promote. He also wants to participate in the upside that he will create by promoting them on the platform. He later backed off a bit from being a record label to maybe testing the concept first. Obviously he doesn't understand some of the important nuances around the business about what rights a record label does and does not have."I appreciate the introduction. I am going to go back to my team with some of these concepts and see if we can get creative in how we could get something to work here that is in the direction of Evan's vision and get him more exposed to what we can bring to Snapchat. We have a lot of ideas of our own but I don't think Evan will engage in our ideas until we try to move something forward that he wants to accomplish."Please let me know if you want to disc [sic]" -

Porter Robinson Delivers Inspiring EMC 2014 Keynote Address [WATCH]
Porter Robinson has had one of the biggest years of any artists in dance music. He completely transformed his image, his sound and, as a result, his career. The transition had started with his single "Language" and later the collaboration alongside Mat Zo "Easy," but it was made complete with the writing and release of his debut artist album "Worlds." "Worlds" ditched his heavy, glitchy electro sound that he professed, focusing more on technical prowess more than songwriting and creating "beautiful music" at 90 beats per minute that really satisfied the creative spirit of Porter Robinson. During his time at Stereosonic, he stopped at the Electronic Music Conference to deliver the keynote address with fellow DJ and friend Nick Thayer about the process of making the album, give some advice for upcoming producers and say what inspires him, via "In the Mix."Porter Robinson sits down with Nick Thayer, who prompts the 22-year-old producer/DJ to discuss how he got to where he is in his career and give advice on how to get the attention of someone like him. His advice is a bit different from how others might view the music industry or "the game," as it is referred to in the discussion. He admits that his experience was largely shielded from many of the struggles and typical experiences that many artists go through, but in the digital age, where almost everything happens online, he urges artists to focus on being true to one's self and create something that is unique. -
