Just last week were commenting on how songs have a tendency to hold the top spot of the Billboard Digital Downloads chart for two weeks, but almost as soon as we said it, a song held on for a third week at no. 1. -
'Frozen' soundtrack returns to top spot as A Great Big World and Young The Giant debut
A few more "new" albums managed to crack the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, but sales slipped from last week overall. -
Katy Perry and 'Dark Horse' stay atop Digital Downloads chart, A Great Big World and Pitbull follow
An interesting trend has developed over on the Billboard Digital Downloads charts: A streak of two-week streaks. The previous five songs to hold the no. 1 spot in the Top 10 have appeared there for exactly two weeks before being replaced by a different song. -
Hear Lorde's sister India Yelich-O’Connor cover 'Say Something'
Lorde (also known as Ella Yelich-O'Connor) has two sisters, and the youngest has just put out a cover song. Consequence of Sound has reported India Yelich-O'Connor posted "Say Something" on Soundcloud. -
Katy Perry rides 'Dark Horse' to top of Digital Downloads chart, Aloe Blacc sees huge rise with 'The Man'
The Top 10 albums from last week might not have featured too many new entries, but the Digital Downloads Top 10 indicates that new players are looking to make a run at the top. The top six tracks are all returnees, but nos. 7-10 are all new from last week. We'll start with the old favorites for the sake of numerical ordering. -
Pitbull, Ke$ha, Eminem and Rihanna end year atop Billboard Digital Downloads chart
Music Times warned you that the final Digital Downloads' chart of the year would be chalk full of sales thanks to people cashing in on the iTunes/download cards they received for Christmas. And sure enough, it was a huge week. Every song in the Top 50 saw a sales increase, and 46 of those tracks saw rises of more than 100 percent (aka doubling in sales since last week). -
A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera top Digital Downloads charts for second week
The end of the year didn't bring any new albums to the Billboard 200 Top 10 this week, and the Top 10 of the Digital Downloads charts didn't bring too many fresh faces either. -

Pitbull and Ke$ha beat Eminem and Rihanna for Digital Downloads in slow sales week
For some odd reason, Christmas singles don't sell. Although the Billboard 200 was full of suddenly-popular CD's containing boatloads of "chestnuts," the Digital Downloads Top 10 didn't reflect the same. Which isn't to say that popular music downloads did particularly well either. -
A Great Big World announces headlining tour, will play Victoria's Secret Fashion Show tonight
A Great Big World is feeling pretty full of themselves right now. Maybe not, but we wouldn't blame them if they did. The pop duo just announced its first headlining tour, coming in the wake of numerous successes over the past month. -
Pitbull and Ke$ha take top Digital Downloads spot with 'Timber,' followed tightly by Eminem's 'The Monster
For once, the album sales for the previous week made more headlines than the digital downloads, but that doesn't mean that singles are doing badly at all. In fact, after just declaring last week that Eminem's "The Monster" could hold down the top spot for weeks to come, a new track took its place. -
Eminem's 'The Monster' and Lorde's 'Royals' still biggest names on Digital Downloads Charts
Album sales may have been down over on the Billboard 200, but singles downloads continued to be hot over on the Digital Downloads charts. The Top 10 sold a combined 5,000 more downloads than last week-a slight rise-but still impressive considering the recent increase in mp3 sales.
