• Tomorrowland 2015 Announces Two More Headliners: Avicii Set To Perform

    Another day, another round of Tomorrowland lineup announcements. The last two days saw the ID&T festival announce that the Belgian National Orchestra, renamed the "Symphony Of Unity" and a Sven Vath led vinyl-only stage. Now the Belgium based festival has announced two solo artists who will be performing in 2015. In two twitter posts, Tomorrowland has invited Swedish superstar Avicii and German underground giant Solomun to perform on Friday, July 24th.

    The Las Vegas arms race is heating up with strip veteran Wynn Las Vegas announcing its complete artist roster for 2015. A few names have already trickled out so far this year, with Kaskade making a big announcement of his homecoming to Wynn for a multi-year residency, and a report on Calvin Harris's new residency at Hakkasan by "Askmen" revealed Avicii's intentions to return to Wynn and at a higher price tag then Harris's reported $400,000 per gig. The Vegas nightlife brand, which owns XS Nightclub, Surrender, Tryst and Encore Beach Club, has brought in top-flight acts like Diplo, Skrillex, Laidback Luke, David Guetta, Zedd and others.

    According to reports, EDM megastar Calvin Harris & Las Vegas nightlife brand Hakkasan Group are expected to announce a deal very soon that will lock the "Blame" producer in for reportedly three years and will net Harris $400,000 a gig. Calvin Harris is currently a resident at Hakkasan and was the DJ there on New Year's Eve, where you could have gotten a table for $500,000. Harris will also be reportedly playing shows at Hakkasan and Omnia Nightclub, the newly opened club in the Caesars Palace, which boasts a DJ roster of Afrojack, Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix.

    The lineup for Ultra Music Festival leaked before the New Year and took a lot of the momentum out of the announcement, but the festival has officially announced the first phase of artists who will be performing at Ultra. It has a mix of your typical headliners like Avicii, Alesso, Axwell / Ingrosso, Hardwell and Skrillex, with big name underground house and techno acts like Carl Cox, Dixon, Maceo Plex, Deep Dish, and Marco Carola. As is tradition with the festival, it likes to bring in a live component of electronic music, so other artists like Clean Bandit, Porter Robinson, RAC and Gorgon City will all perform live via a press release.

    Avicii has had a restful end of 2014 after taking the last few months of the year off to recuperate from lingering health issues. This has given the Swedish superstar producer plenty of time to work in the studio and make new music. He is working on the follow up album to his 2013 album True, titled Stories and has given us a peak at what the Avicii brain trust has been creating over the past few months with several different releases. One of those releases, "The Nights", which was included on the FIFA '15, just got a remix by Avicii, as he continues the trend of remixing himself.

    Swedish superstar producer/DJ Avicii has released the new music video for his latest single "The Nights" from his latest The Days/Nights EP. The EP featured his two new songs, "The Days" and "The Nights" that continue Avicii's trend of meshing together country with electronic music. The music video shows follows the carefree life of Rory Kramer a videographer for DJs including 3Lau. We see Kramer doing flips off of cliffs into water, riding around in hacked up convertibles and participating in a variety of water sports as he lives life with as joy and spirit as it appears one can fit into a 3-minute video.

The most controversial one, the DJ Mag Top 100, relies on fan voting to rank the top DJs in the world, which predictably has main stage heavyweights like Hardwell, Tiesto, Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and others top the list. In a very different twist of events, Resident Advisor, a standard for underground dance music, has its own opinion on which the top DJs in the world are. German Steffan Berkhahn, label owner of Berlin based Innervisions Recordings and professionally known as Dixon, topped the poll for a second straight year, while others like Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin, Tale Of Us and others trailed not far behind.

    Future Music Festival Asia is back in 2015 and it has announced the lineup for its two-day festival. Taking place on March 13 and 14, the festival has relocated its grounds to the Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore from this year's edition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Today FMF announced the first wave of artists that will be joining the festival next spring. Unlike its Australian edition that varies in genre, Future Music Festival Asia is leaning almost all electronic, tabbing acts like Avicii, Afrojack, Fatboy Slim, Knife Party, The Prodigy and more.

    Madonna's upcoming album appears to have spring a leak. Two songs with apparent titles "Rebel Heart" and "Wash All Over Me" have leaked in full online. Madonna has been using the hashtag #RebelHeart quite often on her social media to get fans excited for what was rumored to be an upcoming single. According to Billboard, "Rebel Heart" is a production alongside Swedish superstar Avicii, while "Wash All Over Me" has the hallmarks of an Avicii production. "Wash All Over Me" sounds like a follow up to their first 2012 collaboration "Girl Gone Wild," which caused a stir when it was premiered by both artists like at Ultra Music Festival.
