The "Hey Mama" DJ packed his two-hour mix with timeless classics from the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Danny Tenaglia, Masters at Work, Laurent Garnier and others. -
BBC Radio 1 Numbers Down after Zane Lowe Exit, Fearne Cotton Leaving
It's been a hectic year for BBC Radio 1 and viewership numbers are down as a result of a shift in demographic dynamics and a shuffle of DJs, notably the leaving of Zane Lowe and the exit of Fearne Cotton this week. The British radio channel has lost more than 800,000 viewers from the same period during 2014, dropping from 10.5 million tuning in last year to 9.7 million this year. It's the lowest listening totals since 2003. -

As promised, Flying Lotus took the time last night during his current residency with BBC Radio 1 to interview his frequent collaborator Kendrick Lamar about his latest album, To Pimp A Butterfly, for which FlyLo produced the opening track "Wesley's Theory," which he called "a future classic" during their conversation. In the interview, Lamar spoke about the ideas and influences that went into making the album a success and gave advice to his fans, urging them "put your heart over a number or a dollar sign."
