Bill Cosby has not one, but two concerts scheduled today in Boston at the Wilbur Theatre and upon learning that between 200-300 protesters are expected to be outside of the venue, he issued a statement to what's left of his loyal fans. Life has changed a lot for the legendary comedian who has spent the last several months plagued by allegations of rape, sexual abuse and drugging, by a parade of different women. Still, he insists that his career is alive and well, as he told the Boston Herald, -
'Mortdecai' Tanks in Theaters, Will Johnny Depp's Career Recover?
Usually when a film hits theaters there is a bit of a mixed review. Even the worst of films seems to find its groove and a bit of an audience but apparently Mortdecai isn't typical even in that way. The movie about a bumbling art collector that is on the hunt for a stolen painting has been panned so badly that not only could Johnny Depp not save it, but it looks like he may be dragged down with it. -
Jay Leno Doesn't Understand Why Anyone Is Believing That Bill Cosby Is Innocent
Jay Leno has never been one to dodge controversial subjects, so it is not too surprising that when asked about the scandal plaguing Bill Cosby, he weighed in with a real answer. Leno was on hand for a Q&A segment at the NATPE conference yesterday and his comments about the scandal made it clear that he believes the allegations against the famed comedian are true. -

Bill Cosby and His Team of Investigators Already Taking Aim at Chloe Goins for Speaking with the LAPD
After learning that Chloe Goins filed criminal charges against him with the LAPD, of course Bill Cosby's team has come out swinging. The young model's attorney requested that investigators get a search warrant for The Playboy Mansion, where the incident allegedly happened. They claim that surveillance tapes may provide solid proof to bolster Goins's claims. Now Cosby's team is pushing for the same footage. The comedian actually used to be friends with Hugh Hefner, and he is hoping that the head of the Playboy empire will give him evidence that might prevent any kind of criminal charges from being filed. According to a report by TMZ, Cosby's team is looking for surveillance footage and the names of employees who worked on the 2008 night in question. What is more than a little interesting is the fact that Cosby has also expressed concern about whether or not any former Playmates might have made similar claims against him. If Hefner knows of any, then you better believe Cosby's team wants to get to them before they come forward on their own. While fighting back a continuous onslaught of rumors and allegations, Cosby's business continues to tank. -
Did Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Give the Allegations Against Bill Cosby Credibility by Mentioning Them at the Golden Globes?
Bill Cosby has spent the better part of the last two months fighting to salvage his career after numerous women have come out of the woodwork to accuse him of sexual impropriety. He has not taken direct aim often. Instead, he has hired a team of investigators to find skeletons in his accusers's closets and used his minimal time onstage to take a verbal sideways shot, but all the while Cosby seems to have thought that, eventually, it will all go away. The fact that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey fired shots at Cosby during the Golden Globes may have had a bigger impact than anyone would have imagined.TMZ caught up with Michelle Hurd, an actress from "Law & Order" who is also a Cosby accuser. She found it ironic that a steady stream of women making similar allegations about being drugged and then assaulted have at times found themselves under the media's microscope, but once two respected fellow comediennes took aim at the man who once might have been sort of their idol, things look different.Fey and Poehler roasted Cosby out in the open and in front of an international audience. There was no hesitation in their words, and by the time they finished there seemed to be little doubt of how Hollywood as a whole is now viewing Cosby. It was also a bit ironic that these direct shots were fired at Cosby in prime time and on NBC, the network that he once helped to propel to the No. 1 position with "The Cosby Show." -
Bill Cosby Gets Standing Ovation and Protests at Canadian Show
Bill Cosby claims to have had a "wonderful time" performing in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, last night, Jan. 7. It was his first stand-up gig since last November, when detailed allegations of sexual assault first appeared again in the press. It is not the first time Cosby has been accused, but the allegations are really sticking this time around. Last night's performance was met with cheers as well as several protesters. When Cosby took the stage at the Center in the Square theater, about a third of the seats were empty in what would normally have been a sell-out crowd. While an announcer warned that there could be disruptions, there was not a single heckler in sight. The audience was polite and Cosby ended with a partial standing ovation. He also thanked the crowd for showing up and supporting him. While, all things considered, this show was a success, it is nothing compared to the kind of showing the comedian usually gets for one of his stand-up gigs. This show, as well as two others in Ontario, were booked before the scandal began, and when Cosby did not back out and cancel the dates, the venues were not going to risk doing it and being sued for breech of contract. What remains to be seen is whether or not Cosby will be able to book any new shows for this year. Several dates have already been canceled in the U.S. and we are not hearing any new ones being added to his schedule as of yet. -
Phylicia Rashad Claims Accusations Against Bill Cosby Are 'Orchestrated' to Destroy His Legacy
Bill Cosby's reputation and legacy has completely nosedived in under two months thanks to a string of allegations by several different women. Is Cosby really capable of drugging and sexually assaulting women on a regular basis? Could this many people who have never met be telling the same lie? That is what the comedian's legal team is trying to convince us of. It seems the public has hung on the words of those affiliated with Cosby and input from those who worked with him on the set of "The Cosby Show" seems invaluable. Finally, Phylicia Rashad is speaking up.Rashad was Cosby's television wife for years, and after staying quiet for several weeks, she finally spoke exclusively with Showbiz 411 yesterday, and she staunchly defended her friend."Rashad, who is one of our greatest stage actresses, has kept quiet, didn't seek me out and even said, 'I don't want to become part of the public debate.' But knowing this she did say to me, 'I love him' about Bill Cosby. She stands defiantly behind him. She told me that in the years she's known him, she has never seen the behavior alleged by the women who say they were drugged and raped, or sexually harassed," wrote Roger Friedman."Forget these women," Rashad said. "What you're seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it's orchestrated. I don't know why or who's doing it, but it's the legacy. And it's a legacy that is so important to the culture."Rashad dismisses claims from Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickinson."Oh, please," she said when their names came up.She is also quick to defend Camille Cosby."This is a tough woman, a smart woman," she told me. "She's no pushover." -
Two More Women Join Defamation Lawsuit Already Filed Against Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby may actually be playing a few gigs in Canada this week, but back in the States his sexual assault scandal just got a little messier. For weeks now various women have come forward to accuse Cosby of drugging and then either assaulting or raping them once they were incapacitated, and finally the comedian decided to start fighting back. He hired investigators to dig up dirt on anyone making accusations, and he has also taken direct aim at any woman brave enough to publicly accuse him of wrongdoing. A defamation suit was filed against Cosby weeks ago by one of his alleged victims, Tamara Green, and now two more names have been added to that suit.According to a report by Page Six:"The amended complaint was filed Monday[, Jan. 5,] in U.S. District Court in Springfield, in western Massachusetts, where Cosby has a home in Shelburne Falls."Cosby is the only defendant in the lawsuit, originally filed last month by Tamara Green, who said he drugged and assaulted her in the 1970s. The two new plaintiffs are Therese Serignese, who said he drugged and raped her in 1976, and Linda Traitz, who alleges he tried to drug her and then sexually groped her in 1970."Attorney Joseph Cammarata, who represents the three women, said the civil action allows them to have their allegations heard since criminal statutes of limitation have expired." -
Bill Cosby Has Hired Investigators to Dig Up Dirt on His Many Accusers
After everything that we have heard about Bill Cosby's true character in recent weeks, it is surprising he has not gone after his multitude of accusers from the start. He may have held back from doing so in the beginning while hoping that all the accusations would somehow just disappear and be discredited on their own. Since the exact opposite has happened, Cosby is now out for proverbial blood.According to a report by Page Six, Cosby has hired a West Coast-based team of private investigators to dig up any dirt that exists on his accusers. In one meeting with the team, Cosby reportedly said, "If you're going to say to the world that I did this to you, then the world needs to know what kind of person are you? Who is this person that's saying it? You can't say that I put something in your coffee, threw you in a cab and then you go on and live a high-profile life, a famous life and you never complain."That, quite obviously, is in reference to Beverly Johnson's account of being drugged by the actor while auditioning for his sitcom back in the 1980s. -
Stephen Collins Publicly Apologizes for Molesting Three Underage Girls as His Career Sits in Ruins
Stephen Collins has decided to do something that many would have considered unthinkable. He has actually decided to admit to molesting three underage girls several decades ago in an attempt at atoning for his sins in the public eye. A few months back, Collins's divorce from Faye Grant took a particularly messy turn when recording marriage counseling sessions between the embattled couple somehow hit the press. On those audio tapes, Collins is heard discussing molesting young girls between the ages of 11 and 13 in disturbing detail. Rather than trying to make excuses, Collins instead has penned an official apology that is published in the latest copy of "People" magazine. In the essay, Collins explains his reasons for coming forward now, explaining, "Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since. I've decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist's or my knowledge or consent. On the recording, I described events that took place 20, 32, and 40 years ago. The publication of the recording has resulted in assumptions and innuendos about what I did that go far beyond what actually occurred. As difficult as this is, I want people to know the truth." -
Camille Cosby Is Defending Her Husband as Scandal Surrounding Bill Cosby Deepens
Bill Cosby's life and business has been completely turned upside down over the last several weeks by a series of allegations that are shocking and impossible to ignore. Had just one or two women gone public with allegations of sexual misconduct, then Cosby would probably be standing on much stronger footing right now. Instead, more than two dozen women have come forward to paint the popular actor and comedian as, at best, manipulative and, at worst, a calculating serial rapist who has spent decades drugging and assaulting young women in Hollywood. Through it all, Cosby's wife of more than 50 years has stood by his side, keeping silent — at least until now.Camille Cosby has finally decided to speak up and out on behalf of her husband. She issued a simple statement that was intended to assure people that Cosby is indeed as good a man as the characters he has portrayed."The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew," explained Camille. She also went on to liken this scandal involving her husband to the alleged UVA gang rape story that "Rolling Stone" ran before double-checking its sources.
